That is what we need. The options are Carney, Collins, Brewer, Roy, or any other wing player. We just need the defense.
You guys are already set on a sg with andre but you really need a sf...i think rodney carney would be a great addition even know him and andre are very similiar.
Don't forget about Shannon Brown out of MSU. I'd like him, Carney, but he will likely have to fall in stock in order for us to get him at 13. Other than we need a PG, hopefully Marcus Williams will be availible. You shouldn't have made a seperate thread, there is a draft thread.
If King decides not to trade Iverson, Collins looks like a very good pick for the Sixers. To go along with his ballhandling, playmaking and PG skills, he's a tall PG that will allow AI to play the SG on offense, and guard the easier task on defense.
SF/SG isn't even a big need at all.. We need a pure point guard or a big man that can defend and rebound.
I would LOVE to get my hands on either Brandon Roy or Rodney Carney but the only problem is that they would be off the board probably when we pick at 13 (definitely Roy, probably Carney). If Carney does slip to us I would hope that Billy King would pull the trigger. I've watched him the last few years at Memphis and he's really working hard to try and shed that "soft" label off of him. If we can keep trying to shed the "soft" label off in the Pros he can do wonders. Maybe take a few defense tips from Iggy while he is here because he already has the speed and quickness to potentially be a top notch defensive player. His three point shooting is above average and you know by just watching college ball that he knows how to get to the hoop. That being said, Carney or Shannon Brown, another player I would love the Sixers to draft, would come in as big scoring threats when we trade Iverson during the draft for defensive minded players
How is SF/SG not a big need, I figure that our lineup althgough not good enough is set at AI, AI2 (playing either the 2 or 3), A draft pick (playing whichever position AI2 doesn't), Webber, and Dalimbert (I expect him to be good again) 6th man would be Hunter, 7th man would be Korver, Salmons and Green would also see time off the bench. Hopefully we have another big or 2 who can help add deoth to the front court in free agency or something.
to tell you the truth, if we do draft at 13, i will most likely look at sheldon williams. he is exactly what we need. he plays hard, is tough, and is not afraid to bang down low. he has some height issues, but i think his wing span will make up for that. guys like brandon roy and rodney carney (rockets have huge interest) will most likely be gone by our pick. and i dont really see anyone that could be left for us to draft without it being a reach. i guess marcus williams could still be there, but i would rather get a guy like sheldon
