I want White...he can fly like no other player I've seen and has the potential to be a DEADLY defender.

How is he like no player you've ever seen. He's an athletic freak, but he really doesn't have any skills that catch your eye, besides his jumping ability.

White, would be a great a player off the bench that can come in for Kobe. The Lakers have been trying out more players these days.

Poor handles, poor shot...Jarret Jack is Smush Parker in Stephon Marbury's body.

White is a pretty nice player, he's just not known for his amazing dunks. [IMG]

He's a very nice defender with nice ballhandling ability and good vision and always looking to share the ball...he'd fit in very well in the Tri. Only an okay shooter though.

That'd be sweet if the Lakers got James White. One of the best dunkers ever on my favourite team.

I think it's a big possibility we get him. The Portland deal that is rumored could actually be Mihm and Cookie for Miles and the 30th pick. In that case, we'd have the 26th pick and the 30th pick.

That leads me to believe we'd select Leon Powe @ 26. He's canceled all of his workouts after he worked out for the Lakers, so I think we promised him a selection. With the 30th pick, we would take White.

People are saying Powe's too small to perform in the NBA. Look at Elton Brand. Brand and Powe have similar builds and similar game styles. Powe is one of the most effective post players in the college rankings. He can have an impact on this team for day 1. He has a clean bill of health, so I don't think we have to worry about his knees anymore, either. I'd start him at PF from the start. We'd have one strong lineup with: MLE-sgined PG (Banks or Cassell), Kobe, Odom, Powe, and Kwame. Bring James White, Luke Walton, Darius Miles, and Smush Parker off of the bench. That's one versatile roster.

Agreed. This draft class has a lot of intriguing prospects who could be impact role players for this Laker team. Flight White could turn out to be an absolute steal for the Lakers if they take him #26 or #30. He would be ideal in the Devean George role, plus White can create his own shots.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Shannon Brown slips to them at #26.

Landing SB3 and White would be an outstanding draft for this team.

White doesn't really have a good jumpshot, but I think that his athletism makes up for that. He is a freak athlete who can fly high, and I think that he will fit into the triangle as a good post player.

White is a gymrat, and his jumpshot isn't terrible. He just needs to improve the consistency on his range. I really don't understand why people make a big deal about a player's jumpshot. Learning how to shoot is something a player can do in just one summer.

yeah, good point shape. if you dedicate yourself over the summer to improve your shooting, you can improve tremendously. just look at guys like tony parker, and even our own, luke walton.
