<div class="quote_poster">Quoting playmaker15:</div><div class="quote_post">Well according to Shaq, he wants to play out his deal and this was stated again last night when asked if the Heat win, would he consider retirement. He said not really, that he just signed an extension and he wanted to keep on playing. Miami will still have Williams/Walker/Posey and Dorrell Wright showed us a lot during the last few games of the year averaging over 15 over that stretch of time. Also, Haslem is here for 4 more years and Wayne Simien is going to be a great player from what he's shown this year. I think this team was built for life without Shaq as well.</div>

Well I really don't think he will be able to play 4 more years. He's already wearing down now, just imagine in 4 more years.

I really doubt he leaves, like I keep saying, but if he does leave, Orlando looks like a good option for him. We've already been through the rebuilding, he'd have a superstar downlow(will be better than Shaq was this year), with another emerging defensive presence down low(Darko) to go along with Hedo and Jameer.

None of us are saying he's going to leave Miami to come to Orlando. We are just saying that we would have a very intriguing place that Wade would have to consider before he makes his decision.

^^Absolutely I would love to see that team but the odds are it's not going to happen. I would go after Howard or Vince. Vince is from Florida so he would definately love it and I think he would be great alongside Dwight and Jameer.

I would be against Vince. I think Paul Pierce would be the #1 option(assuming Wade doesn't go) and then Josh Howard. Vince is getting old and I don't want to give him a max contract for 6 years. It would be nice to get him for a year or 2, but I'd rather give it to someone like Paul Pierce who isn't selfish and can play defense and doesn't mind deferring to other players.

    Gators-

If you're interested in Pierce - how about this scenario:

Next year, Orlando trades Grant Hill's expiring contract and a promising young player like Ariza (or draft picks) for Pierce.

Boston has been in rumors now for years for their willingness to start fresh and go into rebuilding mode. That includes unloading Pierce's contract.

Pierce is signed for two years, the latter being a player option. Next year he's slated to earn $15.1 million and $16.3 million Whether or not he takes the player option or not is still in the air.

I think it's a perfect way to test out the acquisition. If there are chemistry problems, essentially we're stuck with him for two years max. We can let him go into free agency and be in the same position for the summer of 2008 free agency pool (where there are better options). If he works out good, then resign him at the end of his current contract.

It depends how we are doing come trade deadline time. If we are borderline playoffs and Wade has resigned, then I can see us doing this deal. Pierce is my #2 option in the offseason behind Wade. If we were going to try to get Pierce anyway in the offseason, might as well trade Hill for him. I'm not so sure about Ariza though. How about Fran. [IMG] Just kidding.

Orlando is cursed. I dont want to see any good players traded there. When Shaq left and you kept Penny you guys never recovered. Had some ok teams but never a true contender.Like when Detroit came back from a 2-0 to win with a 3 game sweep. That was Just Crazy. The Basket ball Gods Have Smitten thee with its fury. LOL

Actually the Magic were never up 2-0 against the Pistons and even if the Magic were up 2-0 and the Pistons won 3 games in a row that would not be a sweep. Also it was similar to what your favorite player did this year. Yes I am talking about Kobe. If you make fun of the Magic's chokejob, you can't help but make fun of Kobe's... One more point, no one is going to be traded to Orlando. We are going to sign them in free agency. Do you know what free agency is?

    And you aren't bitter?

Can I ask you a question? Why do you even post that garbage or your 1 liners? Please say something that is productive to the thread. What the hell does this have to do with the Magic getting Dwayne Wade? I don't mind debating opinions, but when you come up with garbage that doesn't make sense or is just completely wrong, I have to humiliate you. Sorry for that and sorry in advance for more to come.

You are again incorrect. If you actually followed the NBA, you would know that no team has ever lost a series after going up 3-0. Please do research before you post.

In the 2003 playoffs the Magic and Pistons were tied at 1-1. Then Magic won 2 in a row taking the series lead 3-1. The Piston's then won 3 in a row to win the series.

I don't understand why people don't do a little bit of research before posting a comment like that. Seriously, 2 minutes it took me to look up that information and at least sound knowledgable. Instead you sound like a complete tool and idiot.

This will probably be more up your alley: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sportId=1850

I'm not worried. We'll get either Pierce or Howard or 2 role players.

Well I wouldn't mind giving him like a Corey Maggette type deal, he'd be worth it, IMO. (Starts at around 6 and moves up to close to 9 after 5 years). I see him as just under an all-star. LIke you have your superstars, then other all-stars, then the good players that likely will never be an all-star(kinda like Hedo, Darrell Armstrong in his prime, etc), then role players.

No way you can put Hedo in the Corey Magette/Josh Howard under all-star group.

The way he was playing at the end of the year I can. Hedo was avg near 22 ppg on 50+% shooting and 40+% 3 pters in his last 15-20 or so games while only averaging like 13 shots a game. I would say Josh Howard and Maggette are in the top phalf of that group and Hedo is in the bottom half of that group. He can seriously score whereever on the court he wants.

On most teams Hedo wouldn't even be a starter.
