I thouht I'd put this thread forward. I'll rank mine, I'd like to see what others think. It's actually very interestiong because there are just so many.

    1. Coach K
    2. Rick Pitino
    3. Jim Calhoun
    4. Phil Martelli
    5. Jim Boeheim
    6. Roy Williams
    7. Lute Olson
    8. Thad Matta
    9. Tom Izzo
    10. Kelvin Sampson

I don't think I made this perfect, but in my opinion i is a pretty accurate top 10.

    Here's my list:

    1. Coach K
    2. Tom Izzo
    3. Jim Calhoun
    4. Roy Williams
    5. Lute Olsen
    6. Rick Pitino
    7. Bob Knight
    8. Billy Donovan
    9. Jim Boeheim
    10. Gary Williams

There's plenty of other guys who are deserving like Bo Ryan, Phil Martelli, Al Skinner, Thad Matta, etc...but these are the ten coaches that are consistently putting a top 10 calibur team out on the floor and are leading their teams deep into the tournament year in and year out.

    1. Coach K: This is a given, no matter how bad his team is on paper, he'll make them into a top 25 team.
    2. Roy Williams: Roy Williams is just an outstanding coach IMO. He can recruit so he has the talent, but his style of play gets the crowd into the game making his team very hard to play.
    3. Bruce Weber: Look what Bruce Weber has done everywhere he's gone.....turned them to a NCAA Tourney Team.
    4. Jim Calhoun: He's a legend in my eyes, he's had so many good runs in the tourney, and remember players.
    5. Tom Izzo: If I didn't get Izzo in the top 5, VC tears me apart in our 100 pg thread argument.
    6. Lute Olson: Lute Olson is one of the most dedicated coaches you'll find. Despite his age, he's one of the few coaches that stays up pasted midnight to watch AAU games to find that hidden gem. He has made these NR prospects into NBA Studs, Arenas and Frye.....
    7. Mark Few: Give this guy credit for what he's built in Spokane. He's one of the most overlooked coaches in all of basketball. If he could have a couple top 50 recruits, he's in contention for a national championship.
    8. Jim Boeheim: His 2-3 zone is a masterpiece, who needs man defense when you can sit back in a zone all day?
    9. Rick Pitino: Once was a top 5 coach in all of college basketball, that was until he went to the Celts. He just hasn't had the same type of success since then.
    10. Jay Wright: Jay Wright is a young coach that is going to be around for a long time. His unbelievable 4 guard lineup last year showed what kind of mastermind he is. I can't wait till he starts getting some top notch recruits, I think Mayo and Walker would succeed in Villanova [IMG]

I picked some overlooked coaches in this list, but I think guys like Lorenzo Romar, Ben Howland, and Billy Donovan will be some pretty big named coaches pretty soon. Another name that you might want to add is Jeff Capel, the new coach at Oklahoma. He formed a powerhouse mid-major with lack of talent, now he'll be able to get much better players.
