well, this is something that can very well happen. the heat are on the brink of eliminating the pistons, and the suns are in a tight battle with dallas. what if. what if both the heat and the suns make it to the finals? then who would you root for?

Now that the Pistons have won game 5, I believe that the Pistons will steal game 6 and finish the Heat in game 7. How ironic would that be?

Here's one way to approach it. If the Suns win the championship, you have to look back and say, this Laker team took the champions to 7 games. This might justify the Lakers are closer than anyone thought about getting the championship. Also you have to really question the overall strength of the league if Phoenix wins it all. They are playing with a 7 man rotation for the most part. If a team can win the NBA title with such a short rotation and playing without, arguably, their best player, then I think any team can come in next season and make a title run.

I was thinking the exact same thing... Lakers were INCHES away from defeating the Suns, and look what they could of done. Next year Lakers will be ready..

I doubt it comes down to those teams, but if it does, I'm going with the Heat. I like Wade and Haslem. Right there is enough for me to take over PHX.

Heat vs. Mavericks in the final......it's gonna be one of a series.

Heat are unstoppable right now, especially at home.

I think this is the best chance they'll have at a title, so I don't think they're gonna give it up.

But I'm not gonna count out Dallas just yet, I think they will take Suns, and they will be able to beat Miami some how. The Pistons are a great team, but in the post-season, they really haven't been themselves. Unlike Detroit, Dallas is playing their best ball so I expec them to give Heat a very hard time and maybe even win it all.

Like Brian said, since Shaq and Kobe called it cool, I don't really mind Shaq winning another title. No one can say anything about Shaq winning a title first because the Miami team is far superior than the Lakers.

I won't be rooting for anyone, just gonna enjoy the finals.

Dallas out matches the Heat, majorly. It's going to be ugly if Dallas can advance. They'll take it in 5, possibly a sweep.

Dirk, Terry, Stackhouse, Howard will kill the Heat. Diop can play some frustrating D on Shaq, that leaves Wade. I'd take Dirk, Terry, Stack, and Howard over Wade any day.

dude, you're underestimating the heat + wade like craazy.

It will def not be a sweep, 5 games, or even 6 games.

    That Miami team is deep.

Alonzo, Payton, Walker, J Will, and esp SHAQ are not going to let this opportunity go to waste. This is their BEST CHANCE at an NBA Title.

I think Dallas in 7. Miami is ridiculously hard to beat at home, it should make a good series. I believe Dallas will get the home court advantage right?

Nothing will be sweater than watching Shaq lose in the finals again. It's much harder to lose in the finals than to lose in the first round.

Call me selfish, but I don't want ex-Laker champions Shaq and Pat winning a ring with another team. I'm rooting for Dallas this year. I want Dirk to win to show that the game is now truly global.

Oh yeah, that too, and I don't want Wade to outshine Kobe.
