While the Nets admitted they were impressed with Josh Boone, the much better known Connecticut big man, they were intrigued by Dos Santos, known as "Morro" in Brazil. Ed Stefanski described him as "skilled" and "interesting". The 6'-11" Dos Santos, was Brazil's top shot blocker last season. Meanwhile, Rivals.com suggests who could help the Nets in the draft.</div>

    Why not him?

I don't know much about him, that is why I am asking.

I've watched Boone the last three years and I'm just not impressed at all by him. His freshman year with Okafor he impressed me, but since then he's shown that he's a weakling in the middle. He doesn't hold his ground and he doesn't seem to play with any passion when it counts despite having the gift of height, speed, and athleticism. He and Villanueva should've dominated last year, but they ended up getting knocked out in the 2nd round by 10th seed NC State. The following season, this past season, he just was a big guy in the middle. Not even that, when 11th seed George Mason played them, Jai Lewis, who is 6-7, just dominated him. Jai's probably is heavier, but for Boone he should've taken it to the slower and smaller Jai but it never happened. He had like 4 points and 6 boards against them.

He could be like Villanueva, slumped it in college and then play well in the league, (and Rudy Gay seems to have done the same thing) but atleast both Gay and Villanueva have shown enough spurts of their tremendous ability while Boone has just shown very little of what he could do. He does have a knack for defense, but not great enough in my opinion. I really think he'll end up like Brian Skinner if he beefs up rather than the projections of Emeka or a smaller Deke. I just don't have faith him. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think so. I'm more interested in Hilton Armstrong who seems like he can be a very solid player both offensively and defensively.
