<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It?s a hectic time for potential NBA draft picks. Traveling all over the country, going through psychiatric tests, and constantly being judged and analyzed is all part of the process. Yet two players projected to be drafted in the first round of the upcoming NBA Draft were given a very good excuse to go home. Two local products were invited to workout for the Philadelphia 76ers on June 3, and both were very impressive. Randy Foye from Villanova and Mardy Collins from Temple, two Philadelphia based schools, were joined by Maurice Ager from Michigan State and Marcus ?Marquinhow? Vinicius from Brazil in a pre-draft workout for the 76ers. ?When I look at it it?s like I just walked on campus the other day, and now I?m working out for the 76ers,? said Foye after the workout was complete. Foye, who is listed at 6-feet-4-inches, spent four years with the Wildcats and is projected to be a lottery pick when the draft rolls around on June 28, but isn?t letting any talk give him a big head. ?Until my name is called I can?t even think about being a top-10, or even a top-20 pick,? said Foye. ?I just have to keep on coming to these workouts, grinding them out, and being the best person that I can be, and the best basketball player that I can be in these workouts.?</div> Sixers.com Everybody knows how I feel about picking International prospects, so I definitely wouldn't want to hear us pick Marcus Vinicius. Foye, Collins, and Ager all are possibilities at 14. I would prefer Collins over both of them because he has size on them and can cover the bigger guard if we choose to keep Iverson. If Iverson is traded then Ager and Foye can both shoot the lights out and I would hope to even get one at 13. I've seen Ager play a lot, he'll put up his share of 15-20 shots a game but man the kid can score. With Iverson in Town: Collins > Foye > Ager > Vinicius With Iverson out of Town: Foye > Ager > Collins > Vinicius
Everyone knows where I stand already. I would love to get Foye regardless of if we have Iverson, or not should he be on the board at 13. Who knows how long Iverson is going to be around? Every year it seems there are rumors he will be traded if he is traded having Foye there will not hurt us in the long run. I also think Foye could play with Iverson in the back court. Although, he does not have incredible height he has the body of a linebacker, and can keeps guys from posting him up. Out of those players: Foye > Collins > Ager > Vinicius
i also love foye and i would be ecstatic if we took him, but chances are slim that he will fall all the way down to pick #13. in order to get him, i think we definitely will have to trade up. but hey, you never know. he could fall to us just like how bunkley fell all the way down for the eagles.
One guy I think that'll fall is Tyrus Thomas, he was a former mid-first round pick before his outrageous NCAA tournament. That said, if he has a bad work out or two, we could be looking at a situation where we'll be able to draft one of the better-forwards in the past 4 drafts. I say we take Minnesota's deal (Just as long as Marc Blount isn't involved and draft Tyrus Thomas). Then with #13, I'll take BPA.

Sure he prevented guys from posted up in NCAA ball but this is the NBA, guys are a lot stronger and quicker, might be too much for Foye. It would be a good situation for Foye to go to the Hawks, so that Johnson can cover the taller guard, and Foye can focus more on his offensive game. Also Foye is very unexperienced guarding point guards or two guards. Remember, he was that "Guard/Power Forward" at Nova and usually was asked to (try) guard the bigger guy. Foye did a decent job against those bigger guys but the two guards in the pros won't just be bigger, but as quick as him too. That being said, Mardy Collins (the more I think about it), would be the best fit for the team. If Iverson is around, he can stay at the two and flat out play defense on people. But if Iverson is traded, he can easily move to the point where we would have a 6'6" point guard.
When your talking about the prospects of a Jalen-Rose like guy, I'd def take Collins. But King never picks smart, prepare for Cederic to come in Philly *SIGHS*

Snow is the same height as Foye, and I personally don’t know the numbers, but don’t think Snow is stronger than Foye. I think that back court could work well together. Just because the athletes will be stronger doesn’t mean Foye will necessarily struggle. Like you said he normally guarded a bigger man anyway since he played the power forward slot when the Cats’ had the four guards in the game. A college power forward is a lot of times just as strong as an NBA guard. I understand where uoit coming from with why you don't think they will work well in the back court together though. I would personally rather trade AI to Minnesota, so he can get a championship, and draft both Foye and Collins.
At first I didn't really want Mardy Collins, and I'm still not sure if I do. But after looking into some things and reading, I think Collins could be a very nice fit for this 76ers team. This quote from Collins himself sums up my opinion: “If they [the 76ers] are looking to pick me it would be something that they’re looking at,” said Collins. “I can come down and play the point and he [Iverson] can go back to the two and I can get him the ball, and then on the other end I can defend the bigger guard.” But if it was between Mardy and Foye on draft day, I'm taking Foye because he is the better all around player now, and has more upside.I don't think Foye will be around when Philly picks though.

Snow was brought in the NBA out of Michigan State for his defense, and only his defense. Foye is coming in as one of the elite offensive players in the draft. Sure the kid can score but I don't think he's near ready to step in an play defense against a team's number two scorer (Iggy would guard their top). Collins is clearly the better fit. He doesn't try anything flashy, he just gets the job done. As a rookie, he wouldn't need 10-15 shots to be effective like Randy Foye would. One can make a case that he knew how to share on a talented team, but if you look at his numbers there wasn't a game where he put up a single figure shot total. If Foye comes into our same roster, I can potentially see some problems. Iguodala has kept his mouth shut for the past couple years but if he doesn't get some more touches I can see him opening his mouth soon. Iverson and Webber already demand at least 50 shots total. By adding Foye, it would mean that not only Iverson and Webber's shots would go down, but the role player's. Dalemberts', Korver's, Willie Green's, and Steven Hunter's. Foye would either cause problems in the locker room, or it would be like buying a $90,000 car but only using it on Sundays. What I mean is, a team is going to draft Foye for his offensive game where he really doesn't fit our system well. One thing about picking Philly kids born and raised is that they'll do anything to win. Collins grew up in the ghetto's of Philly and like Aaron McKie, will do whatever it takes to win.
And he's got a fucking point, Foye will be just what he is a shooter. I know what Billy King said: "FORGET IT!" Celtics? PP? Sorry, I doubt it. Who's next, New Orleans? Patrick is headed their to pal up with Paul as the new 1-2 tandem of youth. Who's next, New York? Hah, don't make me laugh, if Brown has any control over the draft, he won't go to NY 1 million to 1. Phoenix? Maybe, just maybe.... Mardy Collins on the other hand, is the al;l-around player that'll make us a contender.
Can you put that in english man? One rookie will not make this team a contender either. Don't be ignorant. Collins can help this team a lot, and add a piece to the puzzel, but the 76ers are still missing a lot more pieces.
