I've seen Bargnani on NBA TV same with Jian-Lian, I'd have to see Bargnani is a more polished Jian-Lian with better mobility and Range and that extra speed on his first step so he blows by you even though he's a 7 footer, he's got all the tools to be successful but depending where he ends up could be all it is.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brasco:</div><div class="quote_post">Memphis already has the second best european player in the game and they'd risk losing him for an unproven european big man?</div>

Exactly my point. It's a step backwards and doesn't make any sense. You're going to gamble on this project instead of sticking with a proven and still improving 7'0"er like Gasol? People don't realize how much potential the kid still has. He's only 25, his frame can take more weight, he's a legit 7'0" if not taller and has freakishly long arms, he's very agile, and most importantly, he adds a new dimension to his game every offseason; for example, this season he came in passing the ball better than he ever had in the past, almost doubling his apg in the process, finishing just under a very impressive 5 apg on the year.

Pau Gasol is way to valuable. At 25 and already an allstar whos improving season by season? Proven young allstar for a rookie and a #1 draft pick in a not so amazing draft? No thanks.

i think we should keep CV31. he's a versatile big man, always something good to have on a team. i think he's got a bright future ahead of him

although i sense a trade coming with the 1st overall pick involved (likely trade down for a guard...i think...)

it won't involve charlie as a package unless the person toronto gets is already a star

however on financial perspective, it won't be good for toronto as charlie's rookie contract will be very low for the next couple years..and letting him play/develop on low salary is the best choice

peterson and mike james though might be included in deal
as nobody is really untouchble in sports business

    it's nothing personal, it's business

You don't trade a 22 year old like that. Not one who has that kind of potential, and when you throw in the 1st overall pick, it just makes even less sense. We already have Chris, and Charlie would most likely work much better with Chris in our system.

Indiana one is possible, Memphis one, I defiantely can't see happening. I'd like Gasol though.

Why does everyone love Pau....0-12 in the playoffs says it all....time to go in another direction. 25 isn't exactly a kid....he is a layup man, he dosen't have much of a shot and his leadership qualities are questionalble....he ain't a franchise player...PERIOD

Why do people not give Pau the respect that he deserves? How many 7 footers got 20 ppg 9 rpg and 4.6 apg last year? Other than KG, I don't believe anyone did. Not only that he had 1.91 blocks per game. All of that is in an offense that is based on balance. Bosh and Pau would be an unstoppable duo, especially with Pau's ability to pass the ball. He got that averaging nearly 15 shots per game and shooting over 50%. He is a bonafide superstar despite not being flashy at all.

i got dish here in toronto(mississauga) watch nba tv all the time.
who would you guys rather have:
    1) bosh/aldridge ($3 million)/charlie ($1.9 million)
    2) bosh/ jermaine o'neil ($17-$25million in the final year of his contract)
    3) bosh/ pau gasol ($11 million)
if we get o'neil and sign bosh to a max deal it is going to affect getting other peices (upto $30 million), bosh with a max deal and pau gasol is not bad ($25 million) but its going to be hard to replace someone like charlie 6'11" pf who can stretch the defence with 3 point shooting! now bosh with max deal and aldrige and charlie will be $18 million next year! and charlie would be a restricted free agent the year after. Bosh/Gasol, but that won't happen. I wouldn't mind Bosh/Aldridge/Villanueva though.

Bosh and Gasol could happen.. Since Memphis may get a new ownership who would want to save money. And sending Gasol to Toronto would save them a lot of money. Who says we need Gasol's leadership?? Who says Gasol will be the franchise player? Isn't Bosh the franchise player? and isn't he the leader of the team now? Gasol will fit nicely in a 2nd option role. He will get his usually touches with Bosh as the #1 option too.

memphis is 0-12 because they don't have functional PGs (jason williams had disagreement with coaches etc therefore not playing 100%...and atkins/bobby are bench players not starters)
    for the past 3 years

they choke when their PGs think they are jordan

and gasol certainly can't handle double and triple teams

he has very good balanced/overall skills
he tends to get underrated just his team is not as "noisy" and flashy as other teams out there

gasol is a very versatile player and he got physical this year which shows he wants to improve

also if you look at dallas this year, and suns and spurs in the past..they were playing vs pretty much elite teams (aka championship contenders) in NBA playoffs

while being swept is not an excuse but at least they play rather competitive for most of the games

gasol might not be a legend but he already proved to everybody this year that he is worthy of being an allstar

I kind of dont like the deal. Charlie Villinueva is like the next Jermaine Oneal or Gasol and if you're adding a first overall pick with him for any of those two, would be kind of dumb. Charlie Villinueva is a rookie. He is still got a lot of learning to do, so in the future i see him being as good as Gasol or Oneal. So dont do this trade and keep and wait for Villinueva to get better as them. And trade the 1st overall pick to teams 3-6
