recently in the news i heard that bush is trying to ban all gay marriages. so im wondering, is everyone here for or against it? i am for gay marriages, even though i am not gay, because i dont see what we can gain by banning it. if two gay men or women descide to get married, thats their issue, not mine. its not breaking any laws in the constitution or whatever. i think bush is doing this for his own personal reasons. he thinks gay marriagies are sick, so he wants to ban it.

I have no problem with gay marriage. Not that I'm homosexual or anything, but if they ban gay marriage, they are pretty much saying that they are different and don't have the same right.

I could care less. Gays are still goin to be together so its not like banning marriage will elimate homosexuals. Why would anyone care? I am curious on why people care about gay people getting married. I mean it doenst affect me or any other straight person

It shouldn't be legal anyway. If you look up in the dictionary what a family consists of, it consists of a mom and dad, not two moms or two dads. It bothers me that when I have a kid someday, he will ask me why that kid has two dads.
On the other side of the coin, there's no stopping them, if they are determined to get married.

Because if a gay can get married, then they can adopt kids together. That's personally the most disgusting thing I can think of. A child with two fathers or mothers is not a child, it's a product of disgust.

I really don't have a problem with homosexuals, but I think gay "marriage" is wrong. If people out there choose to be gay, then nothings stopping them, but the government should never recognize them as a "married" couple.

Recognizing them in that way indirectly accepts their relationship as a normal one, even though the gay lifestyle is and always should be an alternative lifestyle. I fully believe that homosexuality is not an innate characteristic. I think it's merely a culture that some people choose to be a part of. These people's minds allow them to enjoy an abnormal activity such as gay intercourse, so they lead a gay lifestyle.

Marriage is the union of a man and a woman. Just because certain people decide they aren't attracted to the opposite sex doesn't mean they should be afforded the same rights and privileges as normal people. Nobody is asking them to become straight, they just shouldn't have their relationships recognized by the government as official "marriages", and definitely shouldn't be allowed to raise children as is they are a "family".

right now they can adopt children, being married doesnt make a difference in that. And i have heard that many experts now beleive it isnt a choice, it is an innate characteristic.

Not as couples though, as far as I know. I'm pretty sure it's not as an official homo couple.

How do people feel about homosexual slander words, such as ***, dike, queer, fairy? Do these words push the limit and deserve more of a punishment than callling someone a spic, ******, or wop? Or should it be taken the same way as racism?

Yeah, but I think it's be a lot more disgusting if they could adopt children officially. For some reason, that bugs me more than one person adopting for a gay couple. The fact that America will let children be taken in by an official gay couple is nauseating to me.

I just dont see how it affects you. U dont have to be gay or anything like that. And where would you rather grow up, a straight family that ignores you or doesnt really love you, or a gay family that loves and cherishes you?

A straight family that didn't give two sh*ts about me.

You know what kind of harrassment that kid would face throughout his life? How many fights he'd get in? How many times he'd be jumped?

Agree with you man. People could be gay if they want but should'nt be allowed to get married or adopt childern because their child would be harrased at school and would have many problems.

Another thing is, if a kid is raised by a gay couple, chances are that's all he'll know. He'll go to school and think being gay is normal, but once reality sets in and he realizes that it's an alternative life style, he'll be confused and probably scared.
