    I was looking up Steve Smith's stats page on nfl and I see that he is still returning punts and kickoffs for the panthers, surely a player who has been widely regarded as the best player in the league for the first half of the season should be taken care of more, I think this is very cynical of John Fox who should take more care of his star receiver.

    I have not seen them play this year so I dont know if he does it regularly or in special occasions but maybe panthersfan can clear this up for me?

    As a FF player with Steve Smith on my team, and me getting 0 points for his returns, i have to agree

    Haha, same situation I am in. I only get points if he houses a kick/punt.

    Steve Smith came into the league as a PR/KR and that is what he is doing, and he only does it half the time chris gamble does the other times. Steve Smith says he love returning punts

    I am sure he does love returning punts but does it not heighten the chance of him getting injured?

    Just a thought. I mean surely he is not that irreplaceable as punt returner.

    John Fox is just giving the panthers the best chance at winning. Im sure if steve smith said he didnt want to return punts he would say alright, but steve Smith thrives on big plays, so i say give steve smith what he wants
