Ben wallace does have some pretty amazing rebounding and defensive skills, but most of his success is because of the system hes in. If the pistons were smart they'd get rid of both ben and rip for a star player or talented younger player. rip is really overrated and is also successful because of the system hes in. i dont care if he averaged 20 or whatever in washington, hes overrated.

He's probably the most active player in the game. He's always curling off picks, trying to lose his man...he's a constant blur on offense. His mid-range game is on par with Reggie Miller's. He's all-star material, not overrated. Nobody calls him a superstar, so where do you get the overrated BS from? Per 40, he averages 22.8 PPG. That's def. not overrated. He shoots 51.2% eFG%, and has a TS% of 55.3%. He can put the ball in the hoop, so please explain to me how he's overrated.
I'd also like to know how Rip is "overated". You flawed your own argument Answer_AI03, saying Rip is only successful because of the system he is in, then went on to state how you're ignoring the fact that he averaged 20ppg for Washington, a completley different system all together.
I have a question, if you aren't going to resign Ben Wallace, then why did you do the deal with the Magic to lose some depth(Arroyo played and you coulda thrown Darko in there) and get Cato's 7 million expiring contract for Darko(who probably would have a chance to play without Ben)? I would give Ben a 4 year deal for about 30 million. Ben definetely isn't useless. He's still active on the boards and is still a beast defensively(just look at the shot block on Shaq). With that block I wouldn't say that his abilities are really decreasing as much as you guys think.
Wow, didn't have to read your sig to know you're only 13. Yep, Ben must be useless because he's a horrid freethrow shooter even though he's the defensive anchor of the best defensive team in the league, the DPOY, one of the best offensive rebounders in the game, and the only guy who can come close to guarding Shaq 1-on-1. Yep, pretty terrible... Btw, if you're 13, 5'8" and can dunk, then I'm Yao Ming.

Only recently did Wallace signa high-profile agent and the rumors start floating that he wanted a max deal. Then Wallace got verbal about how the team forgot about defense. The issue of Wallace resigning with Detroit was crystal clear until recently, that's why they made the deal.

Other teams can offer alot more than Dumars would be willing to, but hopefully ben chooses to stay with us. He's the heart of our team.
the way the league is right now, where a team like Phoenix can go deep in the playoffs with BORIS DIAW as your center, guys like Ben Wallace become a bit of a liability. also Dallas has no smash-mouth type players and they're playing for the title. the league is getting faster and less physical. Big Ben's stock has to be less than it would have been in the past. And defenders NEVER get what offensive players get moneywise, why should Ben be an exception?? For him to look for $12m more than what Nash got at the same age is pretty out there.
Big Ben has already got a ring, so that's not his biggest desire anymore. I'm guessing he's looking for whoever breaks the bank for him
