After watching Ginobli, Raja Bell, Horry, and Steve Nash in the playoffs, I think the league needs to do something about all the flopping going on. I know the refs are human, but these players are getting ridiculous with the exaggerated gestures. I sat and watched Raja Bell flop 85% of the time while holding Kobe in the Lakers series (and in the whole playoffs). Ginobli has made flopping a part of his game now, I think he practices it after every practice. I'm glad Miami and Dallas are in the finals, we're actually gonna see a hard played series. But the league needs to do something about all the damn flopping, it's takin away from the intregity of the game.
I agree, raja bell is such a punk. I used to really like his game, but after this years playoffs i really kind of hate him. First he does a move that if illegal in football to kobe. Then he slaps jason terry in game 6. Among all the flopping i really dislike this guy. He is dirty and is very cocky.
ben wallace did alot of flopping against shaq to..it is really annoying we can all thank vlade divac for it to.
Thats the only way to play against Shaq man. Because if you play as hard as you can, hes gonna foul you like crazy but Ben is strong and dosent give resistence, so they wont call it.

TheFreshPrince When did Raja slap Terry, I didn't see this. I missed game 6...do you have a clip of this?
I concur. It's getting disgusting to see all the flopping going on. It's taking away from the offensive drive. I'd hope to see it become more of a blocking foul...or even go as far as giving the opposing team one free throw and the ball.
Every team has a player that flops to a certain extent. And most of the time that player is considered the team's best one-on-one defender. Now obviously there are players that take it too far. But, players like Raja Bell are still amazing man-to-man defenders, regardless of what flopping you see. I think Bell defended what he did pretty well, when he said that there is contact on those plays and that he flops to make sure that the refs see it.
OK, kobe does this http://youtube.com/watch?v=l5w4FVhAUjY&search=raja%20bell which you can tell by the last view never goes near his face. So raja does this http://youtube.com/watch?v=TEG4F84Odtc&search=raja%20bell real proffesion thing to do. And sorry i couldnt find the slap. it went like this though. Terry was running up the court and bumped into raja causing him to slap him right in the face. This guy is a punk and then said that kobe elbowed him and that he has no respect for kobe. This guy is nuts.

He is a really good defender and showed he's a quality 3 pt shooter this year. He is one of the better role players in the league and everyone on the Suns loves having him as a teammate(so he can't be that bad). Oh and that looks like an intentional elbow too, which should be frowned upon more than flops, IMO. Why does everyone have to respect Kobe?(or any other player in that case) Just because they are great players doesn't mean that they have to respect them. You are being kinda hypocritical saying that Raja Bell is nuts for saying he doesn't respect Kobe, while you are disrespecting Raja Bell. I wouldn't start hating someone if they say they don't respect Dwight(my fav player), because things happen on and off the court that fans don't know, we don't know the entire side of the story. I'm not defending Raja Bell's actions on Kobe, because that was uncalled for, but don't discredit everything Bell does unless you want to discredit everything Kobe does too with his cheap shot on Mike Miller.
I do agree that Kobe did cheapshot Miller, but it's understandable. Miller's assualt on Kobe was like the 4th hard no call that Kobe had received in the prior 3 weeks. Any player would get fed up. That Bell elbow though did not look intentional. How many players position themselves like that? A ton.

Why did he need to move his elbow back that far to catch a ball? So it's understandable for Kobe to do it after getting fouled hard 4 times in 3 weeks against different players, but it's not understandable for Raja Bell to do it for getting elbowed in the face constantly for 5 games(in about a week and a half) by the same player? Getting frusterated is definetely understandable, but doing cheap shots like Kobe and Raja both did are not understandable. You should never take your frustration out on another player on an opposing team, IMO regardless of the situation.
^^ exactly, it is very hard to tell if he got hit, and if he did it couldnt have been that hard. That kind of stuff happens all the time. How many of you when you are playing ball and get accidentally hit fall down and act like a bi*** then a few plays later just drill a guy. That horse collar tackle is illegal in the nfl because it caused to many injuries. this isnt football. That hit was so cheap i cant believe it. Plus then he SLAPS jason terry like a little girl for being bumped? He whines about everything and cheapshots people for no good reason
Kobes wasnt cheap imo. Havent you ever pushed off hard from someone that pisses you off in a game. Kobe swung his arms back because raja was holding him.

He didn't horse collar Kobe, he just clotheslined him. (which is still bad) Dude it wasn't just that one elbow that got under Raja's skin. That had been happening the entire series. Like BlackMamba said about Kobe works the same with Raja, he got frustrated after getting hit like that. If Kobe gets a pass on being able to get away with it(from fans), so should Raja. So did Kobe have a good reason to cheapshot Mike Miller? I'd love to see you stay standing up after getting elbowed by Kobe like that. I don't think it was an accident, do you guys have your arm that far back when you catch a pass? I know I don't. I normally have my hand out towards the ball to catch it. Raja wasn't holding his arm or anything. EDIT: I don't see Raja holding him at all, I see him reaching in to try to deflect the pass, or is reaching in a cheap shot now too?
I watched the terry thing, raja got a T. It was real.m And they had been hitting each other all series not just one way. To me it looked like kobe was getting position on raja and didnt like the way he was banging with him, so he threw his arms out to jump to the ball to make some room. And honestly do you really see that as intentional because i dont What does mike miller have to do about this? (I saw the elbow)

Raja was guarding him extremely close and clearing someone out so that you catch the ball isn't exactly an accident and legal. The refs in this game agree with me. Trust me, Kobe Bryant elbowed Raja Bell A LOT more than Raja Bell elbowed Kobe. I mean how many times did Raja Bell post up on Kobe to get the ball, like Kobe is doing in that video? I'm sure Raja Bell elbowed him too, but Kobe did it a lot more. You are discrediting basically everything that Raja Bell does because of 1 cheap shot. Kobe also did a cheap shot very similar but you are a huge fan. That's very hypocritical. Hate Raja Bell for his game, not just that one hit, especially when one of your favorite players did a dirty shot like that. .
I dont like raja because he called kobe a punk and said that he had no respect for kobe. Kobe apoligized didnt he, that is what i thought anyway, and raja wasnt elbowing but he was holding a lot. I watched just about every minute of this series, i used to like raja but when someone thinks they are sooooo great when they arent just bugs me.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont like raja because he called kobe a punk and said that he had no respect for kobe. He went back and was talking trash to Raja including saying "Who is this guy, who does he think he is. I don't think he got hugged as a kid". Who said Raja thinks he's so great? He took a bunch of elbows into the head without getting any calls. Kobe would go bananas if he wasn't getting those calls. He's cocky, yes, but you have to be cocky to be a great defender. (Artest, Bowen, Ben are all cocky as hell). He wasn't able to hold, because there would be a foul called on him. Unfortunately that's how all the great defenders play. Artest, Bowen both hold players. You have to do whatever you can do to stop players that are so gifted offensively like Kobe.
i understand good defensive players need to be physical, i get people very angry when i play d because i hold people and whatnot. but when im shoved/pushed back i dont whine and cheap shot the guy. That is uncool. and the apology was about mike miller not raja.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">i understand good defensive players need to be physical, i get people very angry when i play d because i hold people and whatnot. but when im shoved/pushed back i dont whine and cheap shot the guy. Kobe whines about all the calls that doesn't go his way, so I don't know why you are mentioning the whining aspect of it. He didn't really whine to the refs(at least not as much as Kobe does). Again, I'm not defending Raja Bell's cheapshot. That was crappy as hell. I just don't understand why people take away everything that Raja Bell has done in his career just because of that cheap shot, when others(including Kobe) has done cheap shots in their history, but they love those players. If after you clothesline a guy and the guy gets up and struts around the court all arrogant after it and then talks trash after the game. Would you apologize? I know I wouldn't. So because Kobe apologizes it automatically makes it not a cheap shot?
