McHale: "We're Not Going To Trade Kevin Garnett" <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> In a wide-ranging interview with the Star Tribune, Kevin McHale was candid on a variety of subjects, including Kevin Garnett. "We're not going to trade Kevin Garnett," said McHale. "Teams that would call up (to trade for Garnett) have nothing I would trade him for anyway. "Kevin wants to win. Kevin is very competitive. The last conversation we had -- about a week ago, he came in for a couple of hours and we talked -- he said he understands where we're at with this team and how, hopefully, a piece or two could make a real difference. "I don't know if so much dynamic change is called for. The difference between winning 58 [in 2003-04] or winning 48 was a shot here or a shot there. And the difference between winning 44 or 33 this year was a shot here, a shot there. It's always a much finer line than people think. We had just a brutal record in close games</div> Source
Selfish Bastards. they can waive him like finley and not be penalized. then he can be signed by a competitor. But i know that aint happening, they dont want to get stuck with that bill. But If KG doesnt care why should we. Because if he cared he would put more preassure on the wolves mangement to get him to the promise land. A closed mouth doesnt get fed.
I just don't think KG is going to win here. He had his shot in Minny and he didn't accomplish it. He's not getting any younger and the talent around him isn't getting any better. I think eventually KG's going to ask for a trade, not demand one. He wants to win, and sooner or later he has to realize that it's not going to happen here in Minnesota. Especially with PHX, Dallas, San Antonio, Memphis, and even the Lakers on the rise. The western conference is tough, it's hard to improve if you're not already a playoff team.
