<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">June 6, 2006 -- Two offensively gifted forwards led the Nets' latest workout yesterday before team brass headed for Orlando and the NBA's annual pre-draft camp.
While the workouts of draft hopefuls continue next week, the Nets eventually will hold an intriguing audition for a potential point guard: Jay Williams, the former Duke All-American and Bulls' 2002 first-round pick who was injured in a devastating motorcycle accident after his rookie season.

Net GM Ed Stefanski has been in contact with Williams' camp to schedule a workout.

The Nets are fairly certain the guys they'll pick 22nd and 23rd in the first round and 54th in the second will be among the 65-plus players in Orlando for the camp that starts today.

"You don't know who's coming," Stefanski said. "One of our [first-round] players or both of our players could be playing in Orlando. You have a list, but who's actually there is a different story."

Traditionally, lottery picks or perceived lottery picks pass on the pre-draft workouts - 20 or so players simply undergo physicals. But whomever the Net contingent - including team president Rod Thorn, coach Lawrence Frank and Stefanski - see and like will be invited back for workouts.

Auditioning yesterday were 6-foot-8, 225-pound Steven Smith of LaSalle and 6-10, 232-pound Ukrainian Oleksiy Pecherov. </div>

Similiar article but it mentions this

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets brass are in Orlando this morning for the NBA's Pre-Draft Camp to get a longer look at dozens of prospects but Ed Stefanski will also be waiting to hear from former Bull Jay Williams on a work out schedule. The 24-year-old is hoping to come back from his motorcycle accident, which a Raptor source says left him without an explosive first step. Williams worked out for Toronto last week. Steven Smith of LaSalle and Oleksiy Pecherov of Paris Racing Basket worked out Monday.</div>

Yeah his status in the league is unrestricted free agent. I don't see any team taking their chances on him because it doesn't sound like he has the health to make it through an NBA season.
