<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bulls forward Luol Deng will have a starring role in the NBA Finals.

He was chosen to participate in a public service announcement for the World Food Program that is set to run during the Miami-Dallas series.

The spot will focus on the WFP?s response to the genocide and hunger crisis in Sudan, Deng?s birthplace, specifically in the Darfur region.

?There are a lot of things going on around the world that people need to realize,? Deng said. ?This PSA is for people to see what?s going on. A lot of people, as big as this country is, could do a lot more to help.?

Deng was 4 when his family left Sudan to escape the escalating civil war and settled in Egypt. A few years later, they relocated to London.

Deng, 21, has never returned to his home country. He is scheduled to visit South Africa in September to participate in the NBA?s ?Basketball Without Borders? program.

?Hopefully in the future, I will get back (to Sudan),? he said. ?My parents are there right now. They tell me what?s going on. My dad?s still doing a lot of stuff.

?They think it?s getting better, it?s getting safer. It?s still a little bit dangerous. It?s just better than it was before.

?Just for people to know it?s going on, that?s already something. Attention always helps to ease a lot of problems. Raising money for this foundation, whatever you could do to help out those people, would be good.?</div>

That sounds great, what he's doing. Hopefully he can bring more things in the future back to his hometown.

Well I saw the commercial Deng sounded really monotone in it. You could tell he was reading off a script, but you know it's something meaningful to him none the less. If I find a video online I will post it here.
