It's true, you really can trade any player in the league. Raptors get the wildcard player in the deal with Robert Whaley. If he can keep his head on straight he could be a servicable player for their frontcourt. Kris Humphries I really liked in college, but he hasn't developed in Utah the way most people expected and he never took advantage of Boozer's injuries. I don't think this trade signals Toronto is after Aldridge in the draft. Basically Toronto just added a couple of big bodies who like to bang on the inside.
lol..i'm going to miss hoffa!..i'm gonna attend the first game he has back in the ACC haha but yeh..someone needs to make a hoffa recap video of him in a raps uniform--a tribute

I guess Utah is continuing their tradition of white-guy centers who have no skill and are just in the league because of their size. Maybe he can learn a thing or two from Ostertag.</div> Sad to say this but The Tag already had his Farwell Tour and has retired
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J_Ray:</div><div class="quote_post">Sad to say this but The Tag already had his Farwell Tour and has retired </div> Oh. I guess he's taking over his spot then.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">why is he called hoffa?</div> His nickname or something from college or from his country teammates..
One humpries is over next summer hes younger so more likely to develop in summer league and stuff plus the fact that he actually has the speed an body to cope with the nba game i do no think he will have the problems hoffa had and all hoffa's tribue video would be would be him fouling people
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">^^dont forget when he lost to lil nate in that jump ball</div> ya I was at that game ... unreal. I can't remember exactly but i think Hoffa's reaction time was soo bad which was the reason he lost ... i don't think it was a matter of nate out jumping him (although that wouldn't have suprized me either). I'll always remember him having the worst court sense in history. The guy scrambles around on defense like he's running out of a burning building. As much as we all hate what this guy represents (Babcock screwing up) you can't help but feel bad for him.... He did try extremely hard and was booed at home... His self confidence must be bordering on non-existent.

Raptors trade bust Araujo to Jazz for two <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz are bringing former Brigham Young center Rafael Araujo back to the state where he starred in college. The Jazz traded forward Kris Humphries and rarely used center Robert Whaley to the Toronto Raptors for Araujo and cash on Thursday. The deal was basically an exchange of two former first-round picks from the 2004 draft that so far have not panned out in the NBA. Toronto took Araujo, the Mountain West Conference co-player of the year, with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft. The Jazz selected Humphries, the freshman of the year in the Big Ten, six spots later. Araujo has averaged 2.9 points and three rebounds in 111 NBA games with the Raptors and Humphries has averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 129 games. Toronto fans often booed the 6-foot-10 Araujo, who said in a conference call he welcomed the move back to Utah. "I cannot say I'm a different player. I think I'm just more mature," Araujo said. "Sometimes it doesn't work for you how you think it should be working." Araujo plans to return to Utah for the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league, then play for the Brazilian national team. He's spending the early summer in southern California, where he is working out with a trainer and improve his conditioning. He'll need it to play for Utah coach Jerry Sloan. The Jazz hope giving Araujo another chance fills a need Utah has at center. Jarron Collins, who started half the season at center, is a free agent and backup Greg Ostertag announced after the season he would retire. Whaley, who can also play forward, played in just 23 games last season. "We wish Rafael well and feel this will be a positive move for both teams," Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo said. Colangelo replaced Rob Babcock, who was fired in January by the Raptors in part because of Araujo's struggles. Araujo will be playing about 45 miles north of Provo, where he played two seasons at BYU and averaged 18.4 points and 10.1 rebounds in 2003-04. He shot 57 percent from the field and made 72 percent of his free throws. "One day fans boo you. Another day fans cheer you," he said. "I think that's part of sports." Trading Humphries left Utah with Deron Williams (2005) and Andrei Kirilenko (1999) as the only players taken by the Jazz in the first round who are still with the team.</div> Source
Not to spoil the party for anyone but Humphries has been pretty sad si....nevermind. You guys dumped Huffa, congrats. Already an improved squad.
He's not called Hoffa for a nickname or anything, his name is Rafael Araujo, and its pronounced 'Hof-i-el A-roo-jho' according to the swirsk.
Good trade. Humphries, at five years younger, at least has more upside than Hoffa. Whaley will be waived, so it's essentially Hoffa for Humphries. Humphries would give us some quality minutes backing up Bosh, but this deal doesn't give us any more size. On another note, now that Hoffa is re-united with Milt Palacio, look for him to average 20/10 and win MIP.
I read that Humphries had a very good game against Phoenix, when Colangelo was still their GM. Maybe he saw something? I doubt it (he probably just wanted to look like he was doing something for the casual fan), but you never know.
