what are some ideas you guys have for us on how to use the MLE and LLE? there are a couple of players out there that i would look at, but my dream is that we can somehow sign ben wallace for the MLE, obviously that isnt going to happen. some realistic choices with the MLE might be chris wilcox, who can provide us some strength down low, mike james, if AI is indeed traded, james can be a quick replacement for AI, although he wont be in our future plans. speedy claxton is another point guard we could look at. also, jumaine jones is out there as well. the guy is a good scorer and plays pretty good defense. we should definitely give him a look.

as for the LLE? i would use it on some veteran players like lindsey hunter and tony delk. if the kandi-man is available at that price, i would definitely sign him. although he has never lived up to expectations, he is still a solid big who can provide us depth at the center spot.

Honestly I really hope Billy King makes a run at either one of these guys:

    Nene, PF/C, Denver Nuggets

Had a few injuries but at full potential this kid is a stud. He's 23, I've followed him throughout his career and it's unsure if the Nuggets would want to pay him $5 million+ to play behind Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin. Maybe we can lure him over here or possibily a sign and trade involving Salmons.

    Chris Wilcox, PF, Seattle Sonics

It doesn't look like the Sonics will let him walk being that they traded for him in the middle of the season. It's worth a try and if we can land him then that would be great!

    Speedy Claxton, PG, Hornets

One of the most coveted point guards in this year's class. I'm pulling for him to get back in town so that we can use one of our draft picks on a swingman.

I really hope we can acquire Brevin Knight or Speedy Claxton, either would be perfect. Wilcox would be great too.

Isn't Gerald Wallace on the market? I'd gladly use the MLE on him if he were. An Athletic Swing man, Wallace provides just what we need on the offensive and defensive end of the court. With the LLE, I'm hoping we bring in a guy, like say Antonio Burks. He's had some good moments with Phoenix among other teams. He'd be a project I'm willing to take on.

I'd be giggling like a little school girl(not literally, yeah you B-22) if we got Wallace, but he likes it in Charlotte and is probably gonna re-sign.

id want wallace too, but there is about a 0% chance of us getting him. after a break out season, i doubt the bobcats would just let him walk. the guy will definetly command more than the MLE IMO, with his skills and age.

as for antonio burks? i have no idea who he is. i think we would be better off signing a veteran to lead this team, considering there was about no leadership at all on last seasons squad.

A 'veteran', you wouldn't happen to mean those uselesss scrubs that want a ring, right? You and King can just gag on that word all day, I wouldn't waste my money.

The Sixers have been after Wallace since he was drafted, so it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to arrange a sign-and-trade with the Bobcats (who can give him more money). As for Antonio Burks, very interesting. He was a good college player at Memphis and he hasn't really been at his full potential in the pros. LLE is actually too high for him, maybe something lower than that, like the minimum. I'd rather take a shot at Jay Williams than go with Burks...

Gerald Wallace would be perfect, he is athletic, and a very good defender as well. King is looking for athletes so I think he should definitely look at Wallace. I would use the MLE on him, or maybe Reggie Evans.

As for the LLE, maybe Jay Williams?

It also all depends on who the 76ers draft.

Perhaps we can work out a Dalembert for Wallace/Filler/First type of trade? It'd be nice to unload Dalembert, get another first and perhaps Melvin Ely, who I've also been impressed with.

dalebert is overpaid. there is no way the bobcats will want to take on a big contract.

what are you talking about? there are plenty of good veterans out there that can play. we obviously need more leadership on this squad.

That can play? Perhaps in their dreams, there's not a veteran alive in the NBA that can copy what Allen Iverson does on the floor. He leads by example, and if they're too young to realize that, tough fucking ****, I'm not wasting my money. If King signs, this veteran, I'll puke.

We need to do whatever we can to get a young big man to Philly through free agency. Preferable a power forward with good size who has a polished low post game. Off the top of my head Wilcox, Nene, and Mohammad come to mind. It would be tough to get Wilcox the Sonics appear health bent on keeping him. Maybe we could work out a sign and trade involving Salmons, or Willie Green. I doubt it though. So we turn to Nene. A great prospect when healthy. Nene has great offensive talent, but his health is always a question mark. He has missed a hell of a lot of games these past two seasons.

I would also love to see us bring Speedy back to Philadelphia. The year we drafted him in the draft we did so with the intention of trading AI. Well that never happened, and it left Speedy in a bad situation, because he cannot play well with AI in the back court, and AI was playing pretty much every minute every night. If we trade AI a Speedy Claxton return would be great.

Well, sorry to bring this thread back up, but we still haven't spent a thing in free agency. According to BigMo, Billy King doesn't really have any plans of spending the MLE. Which pisses me off because there still are a couple of players out there that can still help us. One being Reggie Evans. The guy plays defense, does the dirty work, plays with heart, and rebounds! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Reggie Evans rebounds! Considering we were one of the worst rebounding teams in the league last season, we should seriously give the guy a look. Also, before the off-season started, Billy King stated that he wanted this team to be more defensive oriented, and that he would try his best to make this team fierce on defense. Of course Billy King is not always a man of his words, as we all know, but Reggie Evans is a perfect fit! C'mon Billy! God damn it! Spend the freaking money!
