When I first heard there was a possibility Ben Wallace would become a Bull, through free agency, early in the season. My first reaction was ?Wow how great is this??. However, as the months has progressed I have thought of more, and more negatives that would come with it. Firstly, we would be without any front court scoring once so ever, having Chandler and Wallace starting next to each other. Neither of them are capable of being a consistent low post presence. Which was our biggest issue this season.

Also we would be severely handicapped having them both on the court in crunch time due to their inabilities to hit free throws. Another issue I have is Wallace is supposable going to command a nine figure contract in free agency. Now you have to ask yourself is it worth paying a player 10 million a year if you won?t even be able to have him on the court during the stretch run of games?

With those things stated for every negative there seems to be a positive. Ben Wallace would be the ideal mentor for Chandler. He could help Chandler reach that elite level defensively that he has the potential to reach. He could also teach Chandler the fundamentals of defense, when on the court this season Chandler often times seemed to be playing purely on athleticism, and not possessing the fundamental knowledge of the game.

Another thing that has me really excited about the possibility of signing Ben Wallace is the thought of just how good our defense would be. We lead the league this season in opponent field goal percentage. Add the four time defensive player of the year to the equation, and the sky is the limit for how good we can be defensively.

I?m still going back, and fourth on whether or not this would be a good move for our team, but to be honest with you. I can?t say I would be upset if I woke up one morning during free agency to find out the Bulls had signed Ben Wallace.

If you guys got LaMarcus Aldridge and added Ben, that would be one of the best front courts in the league. Imagine this team:

    C - Ben Wallace
    PF - LaMarcus Aldridge
    SF - Luol Deng
    SG - Ben Gordon
    PG - Kirk Hinrich

I really hope Ben stays with us though.

I would be more than happy with that lineup. Only issue we would have then is what to do with a 60 million dollar player who is coming off the bench, for the second year in a row since signing that huge extension. I do think Big Ben will end up staying in Detroit when it is all said, and then though. We have seen star players do this in the past (Jermaine O?Neal, Tim Duncan, etc.) only to ultimately end up resigning with their original clubs. The Pistons still have a lineup in tact, if Wallace resigns, that can make it back to the NBA finals a couple more times. Especially when their biggest competition is a team with an aging Shaquille O?Neal.

We could possibly play a lineup playing either Wallace and Chandler with FA or Draft pick (Aldridge for example)

And rotate that around. Aldridge can play the dying minutes with either one of them, Chandler and Wallace can play the middle game together.

I thought about that too, but again the issue comes up with Chandlers contract. If we can?t have Wallace/Chandler on the floor at the same time chances would be, we would have Chandler, who is making 10 million dollars a year, averaging less than 25 minutes a game. We could play them next to each other for small stretches, but we would be relying more than ever on our defense and outside shooting.

WOW, I can just imagine Big Ben on the Bulls. They would be a very, very good team by the addition of one player. I think they could be title contenders in a couple of years if they had that lineup of Aldridge, Ben, Deng, Hinrich, Gordon.

Man, It has finally paid off for the Chicago Bulls. All the years of losing, without Michael Jordan that is. They have a strong young lineup right now, WITHOUT any changes. Now you give them a high draft pick, thank to Isaiah Thomas, they have Cap room to sign a Star player, AND there just about ALL young! MAn watch out for the Bulls, these next few years.

we should NOT sign ben wallace...he'll eat out cap space alive, we still have to keep gordon, hinrich, and deng...how do we expect to pay them when we have these 2 fat ass contracts from ben and ty?..and on top of that, we would have no offensive front court..something that was the biggest concern coming into this off season...i dont care that hes a star, we cant have him and tyson and expect to keep our core intact. Hes 32 and his game is based on agility and athletisim..now ask yourself..do u think he'll really have the same energy and athletisism when hes 35-36 when our guys like kirk and deng are in their prime?.....forget ben, we need Nazr or Nene

I agree on not signing Big Ben. He would take a lot of money, Nene would be much better, much younger and I wanted to trade for him before, but then he got injured. Ben is a great player, but no offensive game. Having Tyson Chandler and Ben Wallace not able to score as our frontcourt, that's not the ideal situation. I like Ben, but I don't think I would be able to watch him shoot FT's during tight games. All in all, Big Ben is a better fit with Detroit and he's probably not going to leave them anyway.
