Word is he wants out of Memphis and he'll be testing the market.....my only worry is that he's injury prone some of the time.....but when he's healthy he could be a great spark plug off the bench.
well we really don't have that many options when it comes to free agents this offseason with the amount of money we have to offer.....if we can't get Mike James then I'll take Bobby.
I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole if I were the Rockets. It'd be a huge mistake. He'll look for a shot every time down the court, he'll never involve his teammates, and he'll usually record more turnovers than assists. To add to that, he'll be a liability defensively, mainly because of his size, as a barely 6'0" combo guard. Take my word for it. You guys haven't done well taking the Grizzlies' trash in the past. We all know how the Stromile Swift acquisition worked out. Most fans in this forum acted like they were getting a hell of a steal. All I can say now... I told you so.
I don't want Mike James or Bobby Jackson on the Rockets, they WILL take shots away from Tracy McGrady and Yao and that isn't what we need, we need a more of a David Wesley type player, who doesn't need many shots to score 10-15 points. But also he needs to be a PG that can give great passes and bring his team mates into the game.
to be honest I think another scorer is exactly what the rockets need.....it's nice to have at least 3 players that can create their own shots.......granted we don't want that 3rd person hogging the ball, but there are nights where it's nice to have a 3rd option.

If you guys were looking at him as a two-guard, he might not be such a bad option, but it's really one step forward and two steps backwards by trying to get him to run the point. Also, Luther Head played as a combo guard this year, getting a lot of minutes at the two-guard position, right? When you've got a small two guard like Head, the last thing you want is an undersized, poor defender like Jackson running the point. You'd be asking for a lot of easy buckets by your opponent or foul trouble for Ming.
You said it right we need another Scorer we do not need chuckers on the team that pull down team morale and even T-Mac and Yao are not chuckers because they play with in the system.

Ya Bobby Jackson is good but i dont think he needs to be a starter for another team, i mean dont let him sit on the bench all the time let him start some games but not all.
I'd take neither. I say split that MLE, bring VSpan over. Make him our back up point and use the rest to get a veteran. Shop the TE around and see what we can get. Draft nice. THE ROCKETS SHOULD NOT AND I REPEAT SHOULD NOT USE THEIR WHOLE MLE ON ONE PLAYER.

You seem to always have something interesting to say whenever it's dealing with somebody from Memphis coming to Houston. If this were Mike Miller, you'd be sayin that same nonsense. LMAO, Anyway, Bobby Jackson would be a nice pick up. If Dallas can get away with playin 2 scoring guards, I'm sure we can pull it off. I think we should look for a combo player similar to Josh Howard in the draft, then look to sign some firepower at the guard position.
If you're looking for a Josh Howard-type player, then I hear Ronnie Brewer is the one we should take. He plays good defense and many people in the CF forums keep comparing him to Josh Howard. I've always wanted Rodney Carney for the Rockets since he has the height and the athleticism we really need and he can fill in as an SG or as SF while T-mac switches back to SG but the CF forums are really making me think twice and im starting to like this Brewer fellow. Agreed about the MLE. Do not use it on one player. I say we get a back up SF and PG with the MLE. So do you guys think management will really draft Carney or Brewer? Please say they will
I really dont care who we get. We better not do nothing dumb. If Rockets dont pick between, Carney, Brewer, Gay, S. Williams, or Foye.. I'll be mad!

The guy's possibly the best player on the Grizzlies; really one of the league's most underrated players too. I could get into that further, but it's off-topic. The point is that I'm not particularly trying to trash the Grizzlies that go to the Rockets, and it feels like I'm repeating myself, because this is what I had to say when the Stromile Swift deal was happening. Look who was right there though...

The more open minded ppl like myself & others still wanna give Stro another shot under a more uptempo offense. I agree...Im more open minded about Stro. Yes he is overpaid for the amount of work he did, but he can still have games where he can put up crazy numbers. He is worthless on the trade block right now. We might as well keep him and start him because hes best possible PF that can contribute right away and honestly if he was as bad as Locke says he is than why does JVG still defend him and why hasnt he been traded for second rounders yet?
