Ok, so before the draft takes place, I thought i'd make this post. Basically just predict who you think the top 5 rookies of the 2006/2007 season will be. Heres who I think: 1. Rudy Gay 2. Shelden Williams 3. LaMarcus Aldridge 4. Brandon Roy 5. Adam Morrison
^^cool idea. 1. Morrison 2. Aldridge 3. Gay 4. Bargnani (depending on where he goes) 5. Redick 60. whoever McHale picks number 6
Bargnani's impact will be little to none this year. He's very raw. It takes awhile for the Europeans to adjust to the American game, Bargnani is no exception. I think Roy's the most NBA ready. 1 - Brandon Roy 2 - LaMarcus Aldrige 3 - Adam Morrison 4 - Marcus Williams 5 - Shelden Williams I left Rudy Gay off because I think he might have a year like Marvin Williams. Start slow, but pick it up at the end.
1. Brandon Roy 2. Adam Morrison 3. Marcus Williams 4. Ronnie Brewer 5. LaMarcus Aldridge I think wherever Roy, Morrison, or Marcus Williams go they'll be needed immediately and they've got the skills and NBA ready bodies to produce. Brewer may not be able to get that much time depending on where he goes but I'm asuming he'll be able to find enough time to do something because of his defense and skills to play multiple positions. LaMarcus Aldridge should be able to produce some with his skills but I don't see him starting in the league in his rookie year.
1. LaMarcus Aldridge 2. Brandon Roy 3. Tyrus Thomas 4. Shelden Williams 5. Marcus Williams Honorable Mention: Rudy Gay, Adam Morrison, and Andrea Bargnani.
I think it’s all going to depend on where they end up, and what type of situation they are in, but my top five barring where they end up, and how many touches they get, no particular order..... 1. Randy Foye 2. Brandon Roy 3. Adam Morrison 4. LaMarcus Aldridge 5. Shelden Williams Honorable Mentions: Carney, Brewer, Dee Brown (watch out for him I'm telling you)
1. Brandon Roy 2.JJ 3.Shelden Williams 4.Marcus Williams 5.Morrison HM: Mardy Collins, Ronnie Brewer I think people are questioning the ability of Reddick too much. He is a bit undersized at two guard, and hasn't played much PG, but that doesn't mean he still can't be a really good NBA player. He reminds me of a shorter Reggie Miller. Deadly from long range, and he is very good at running off of picks. JJ also has a consistent mid range jumper.

He should come in and have an impact right away, at least moreso than LaMarcus Aldridge will. Every prospect is "raw" to an extent, but in comparison, Bargnani's one of the least "raw". I think the whole concept of this thread came way too early though. It all depends on the player's situation. For example, Channing Frye wasn't one of the five most talented rookies last season, but he got picked by a team that gave him a lot of touches and playing time. We couldn't have seen that before the draft. Then you've got Danny Granger, who got picked by a playoff team that had Ron Artest, and later Peja Stojakovic, playing his position. While he was probably one of the five most talented rookies in the league last year, he had a hard time getting touches and playing time in that crowded rotation. With that said, I'll still go along with the thread though and pick my top five rookies, assuming they all go to teams that will give them equal playing time - 1) Adam Morrison 2) Shannon Brown 3) Andrea Bargnani 4) J.J. Redick 5) LaMarcus Aldridge
Adam Morrison Brandon Roy Shelden Williams LaMarcus Aldrige Marcus Williams That is if they all get to start and get the equal time and all.
Most likely: 1. Rudy Gay 2. Shelden Williams 3. Brandon Roy 4. Adam Morrison 5. Randy Foye Draft Steals/Sleepers: 1. Kevin Pittsnogle 2. Dee Brown 3. Mike Gansey 4. Denham Brown 5. JJ Reddick
1. Reddick (This is painful, but remember where you heard it) 2. Diaz (Miami) (Unstoppable) 3. Tucker (Texas) (Best player in draft) 4. Aldridge (Texas) (A star on right team) 5. Williams (Wake Forest) (His development has been steady for 4 years)

Everyone always makes that mistake and it's getting to me... not just trying to pick on you... And Diaz is unstoppable? Don't tell that to Mardy Collins who held him to 1-10 shooting, or Taquan Dean who held him to 0-10 shooting, or even Sean Singletary who held him to 2-14 shooting while scoring 29 points on him. Let's face it, he's a 6'0" shooting guard without a consistent jumper and without any handles. He may be a good player four or five years down the road, once he becomes more comfortable with the game, but he's a bit of a project and the last player I'd think of as an impact rookie right away. Eric Williams... first he's got to get drafted to be an impact rookie, or at least get signed, and that looks unlikely.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Voodoo Child:</div><div class="quote_post">Eric Williams... first he's got to get drafted to be an impact rookie, or at least get signed, and that looks unlikely.</div> Do the Raptors have a late 2nd round pick Right now people say Roy is the most ready for the NBA.....I remember everyone saying that about Bogut, but he didn't do what most people thought he could possibly do. Here's my list: 1. Marcus Williams Point guards most of the time get more playing time than big men because most big men are raw, he's a skilled PG that I think could have a Chris Paul type Rookie season in the right spot, perhaps Atlanta where he'd get crazy playing time. 2. Shelden Williams As much as I hate him, he's built like an NBA player allowing him to come right in and contributing, even if it is off the bench. He's the type of player that can be a sleeper in the draft. 3. Ronnie Brewer I really believe this guy can be the best player in this year's draft. He's got talent, size, and potential, I like him more than others. He's a combo guard that can play some D. Brewer is going to be good no matter where he goes, I can see him being a Raja Bell type player in the near future. 4. Louis Amundson Before you guys tell me I'm crazy, he's going to be a solid 2nd round guy that will have no pressure to come in and be a stud right away, but without that pressure he'll be more in his comfort level. Amundson is an athletic PF that can play C too allowing him to get some more playing time. 5. Bobby Jones These guys that are overlooked are the ones that tear it up. Sure he's not going to get that 10 points a game but he'll get a good stat line. Can play some killer defense, and will have time to develop that shot, one of the most easily fixed flaws in a player. Will come in somewhere, where he'll not be expected to do good but will spice up a team's intensity on D In the long term run though, Amundson and Jones are role players.
1. Rudy Gay- There is no denying that this guy will be getting better and better with time. He can thrive even at this early stage in his development 2. Lamarcus Aldridge- All he needs to do is get bigger and he will have a nice career ahead of him. 3. Marcus Williams- not only skilled at handling the ball, but a very smart player. 4. Ronnie Brewer- Very good at everything except shooting the ball because of that weird shot, but that doesnt stop SHawn Marion either. 5. Adam Morrison- Scoring is a big asset in the NBA. He needs to find the right team.
My bad on the Reddick (sic). I was lazy. Eric Williams is my sleeper. He's been overlooked because he played for Wake Forest which had an abysmal year with no guard play, he's improved every year, he's been steady with is body fat disappearing yearly and his quickness and footwork coming around. He's not the classic athletic mold with muscular broad shoulders and nor does he jump and play above the rim. But he bested Sheldon Williams time and again and in the right situation and with a strong SummerLeague he should make a roster and get a contract. Nearly every team has one or two players who make the roster this way. It's happened because it's the way teams have learned to cope with the luxury tax and the high salaries of their 3rd, 4th and 5th year players and their "stars'" salaries. Williams is very strong, he's smart and started for 4 years in the ACC, he's a former McDonald's All-American, he's well-coached, he was regarded by opposing coaches as the player they had to double team to beat Wake, he rebounds by position, he does not give up the baseline, and he stopped unecessary fouling 2 years ago and makes half his FGS and a high percentage of FTS. He'll play.
