<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DALLAS - If there had been one thing the Heat could seemingly count on, it was brilliance from Dwyane Wade.

But even that was missing from Sunday's loss to the Mavericks in Game 2 of The Finals. Thanks to a 16-point second half, Wade closed with 23 points, just off his 26.3 playoff average, and he had a team-high eight rebounds. But those stats don't tell the story of his night.

With Josh Howard, Adrian Griffin and Devin Harris providing defensive resistance, Wade shot 6 for 19 and committed four turnovers -- uncharacteristic for a player who entered shooting 50.5 percent from the field in the postseason.

And his post-halftime flurry wasn't enough to overcome a poor first half by him or his teammates.

''I thought he was very aggressive,'' Heat coach Pat Riley said of Wade. ``He didn't have a game you all are accustomed to seeing him have. He's a great student of the game. They're doing some things I think he can learn from at home. Maybe he can attack a little bit differently.''

Wade's offensive difficulties against Dallas were nothing new.

In four games against the Mavericks this season, Wade has shot 30 for 76 and committed 18 turnovers.

On Sunday, Wade didn't hit a jump shot until 6:58 remained in the third quarter. Until then, his only two baskets came on dunks after steals.

''I was missing shots I normally hit,'' he said. ``They did what they did last game. They tried to blitz the pick-and-roll more often.''</div>
