Tough times right now, after being out of it for the last 28 minutes or so of game 2, but we can bounce back. Aside from finding a effective way to get Shaq the ball in good posistion, what do we need to do, that we haven't been doing, to bounce back?
I say we play with urgency. They gotta remember and put it in their head, two more bad games, they are not going to get a ring. They also have to understand that there's no guarantee that we going to get here again. Orlando, Chicago will be a better team next year, while the Heat is getting older. 'Toine will only deteriorate years down the road, Shaq is getting older every day. They have to remember that this may be their last chance....at least for a few years.
Riley needs to put in the game film of the Detroit series and re-enforce how to play Heat basketball. Right now Miami is trying to win by outshooting Dallas, and not pounding it inside to Shaq on every possession. In Game 1, both Diop and Dampier got into early foul trouble and Dallas was forced to play small earlier than they wanted. Once Dallas went small, Miami stopped giving the ball to Shaq and Dallas got back in the game and bought time for Dampier and Diop to remain on the bench. The Heat are not reposting Shaq after he kicks the ball out and Dallas will live with Miami only making 30% of their 3point shots. It's just dumb basketball and once Shaq loses interest in the game, the Heat don't stand a chance. If Shaq doesn't get touches on offense, he's not going to play defense or rebound. I'm surprised Riley didn't go deeper into his bench in Game 2 to see if he could find a spark from a bench player. Shandon Anderson is usually good for a few key plays in the post season, maybe try using him to disrupt Stackhouse.
Shaq and Wade have to step their games up to another level. They are the two stars on the team. If they dont really soon, Miami's hopes for a first title is going down the drain..
I think they should get everyone who isn't a fastbreak player off the floor. that means shaq and zo ride the pine for portions. even give shandon and that ucla kid 8-10 minutes, have them play phoenix style crash the defenisve boards and run that ball. posey and haslem are better in the open court. so is DWade and Jwill. Antoine Walker the man who takes 19 shots in game 1 of the finals for a team that also Dwayne Wade and Shaquille, well, his minutes need to be CAPPED at 20. Dallas transition D is not THAT good and if you can penetrate you've got yourself a dunk a lot of the time. think about penetration moves and kick out to shooters and forget the whole pound it in to shaq idea. that's not working this time. will they do this? probably not, but at this point Miami is running out of options. i want to see a competitive series, these playoff have been dope, want it to be a classic finals also
One answer: Payton Going off the top of my head, Payton and Jordan are the only 2 players to be ever named defensive first team NINE times in a row. Payton and Oscar Robertson are the only 2 players to have scored 20000 points along with 8000 assists. The difference? Payton has no ring. He is hungry. Expect a big game 4 outa the glove.

Udonis Haslem needs to keep up his intensity. Wade might have had 42 but Haslems defense and hustle got us back in that game. Also, get James Posey some open looks from beyond the arc, he's our best perimiter threat IMO.
