<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers said Monday they had increased prices in eight of their nine season-ticket pricing plans, an average of 4% to 5% overall. Courtside seats were increased from $2,100 a game to $2,200, a 4.8% change. Seats in six lower-level sections between the baskets ? 101, 102, 110, 111, 112 and 119 ? were raised from $210 to $220 a game, also a 4.8% increase. The league-mandated $10 seats were the only ticket prices left unchanged. The Lakers offer 500 such seats at Staples Center, the league minimum. The Lakers were 45-37 during the regular season and lost to the Phoenix Suns in a first-round playoff series that went the full seven games.</div> Source
This is why Mark Cuban is great. He actually reduced his ticket prices and at one time(he still might right now) had $1 tickets. I hate you Mitch.
Blame California citizens. No matter what the prices are, they'll go for it. It goes that way for everything. Gas coul dbe $5.19 a gallon, but we'd still pay for it because we need our automobiles down here. California is one state where the citizens will spend their money on their fancies, no matter what the price may be.
Damn would anyone here pay $2,200 just for a courtside seat? could you imagin paying that and the game ends up a blowout? i'd feel so pissed.
California is just expensive period. The Real Estate is unreal right now. Im not suprised at all with the ticket prices. Its not like its going to stop anyone from going to the games.

Driving is a big part in SoCal, eating, shopping, sports venues, clubs, concerts, and many other things are huge down here. Prices keep going up on these items because no matter how much they charge, we still dish out the $$$. Let's use gasoline as an example. The industries will charge you until there are enough people complaining about the prices and drop it anywhere from $0.03 - $0.07 cents per gallon, and us Californians are happy, again. Is it really that much of a difference? No. It's just the thought of them dropping prices that makes us happy. Those then dropped prices will stay there for about 3-5 weeks, and they'll start creeping up again. The industries have us in the palm of their hand, we are their puppets and they can pull the strings whenever they want.
Maybe it's to pay for KG when he comes to L. A.... LOL j/k Yeah, Laker tickets are rediculous enough already, it was a wallet burner when I watched them this December, even though it was worth the money .
or stay home and watch it on TV where you get all the cool tidbits of basketball info, plus your favorite california announcers, biased laker announcers xP, and bathroom breaks without the 5 hour return to your seat...and no buttholes.... home is great

is it me or do the lakers really spend money very sparingly? and not just that but they want to raise ticket prices.. and does it cost a'lot to get new uniforms because the current ones are very old

There's a waiting list to become a season ticket holder, so they really don't need to sell their team. They also play in the second largest media market, being in Los Angeles, so they are guaranteed to be on TV. It also helps they are one of the premiere franchises in the NBA. I think the Lakers have represented the Western Conference 45% of the time in the NBA Finals.
whats the story with the uniforms? this is a new young team so i poersonally think they should start fresh you know?
Ive bought the $10 seat then managed to sneak in to an empty midlevel seat at halftime and keep moving if someone asks for their seat... this usually works great at blowouts you can get a really great seat for that $10 seat just have to do it during a timeout when too many get up for the restrooms for the ticket person to check all.
