based on reading THIS article...im thinkin maybe ridnour is available. of course nothing leads me to believe that shard is available, but i just started messin around with the trade checker, and came up with this: so after that, i got to wondering if rudy gay could maybe play the 2? if kobe and tmac can play the 2 at 6'8 why cant gay? so maybe we can trade down with charlotte... james in a sign and trade of course...we draft gay. how about this starting line-up: pg: luke ridnour/jose calderon sg: rudy gay/roko ukic sf: rashard lewis/joey graham pf: chris bosh/matt bonner c : primoz brezec/humphries/sow feel free to tell me how this doesnt work, or its a bad idea...etc. im just throwin it out there as as idea. either way...thats a sexy lookin line-up to me.
I don't get why anyone would want to ship Charlie V off. Charlie V is versatile and has great hands and a feel for the game. IMO he's a keeper. A logical trade I see is Brevrin Knight and #3 pick for Toronto's #1 and a player. We can then send Knight to a playoff team for something young in return. (To Miami for Dorrell Wright maybe?)
One thing I don't like about Shard is that he's in a contract year and is going to be asking for more money than he's worth. There's a big chance that he won't stick with us beyond next season. Because of that, I'm hesitant to give away Villanueva and Peterson, even though we'd be getting back a player that I like in Ridnour. The Charlotte trade is great for us, although I'm not sure how willing the Bobcats would be. They're currently shopping around Brevin Knight, because they want to give Felton the starting job. Mike James seems to be the exact opposite of what they need as he's seemed adamant about a starting job and he would take shots away from everybody. Plus they're trading down in size, which is never a good idea.
Let's just draft Aldridge already and move on, unless we can get Pau Gasol...which is the only deal where I would be willing to deal Charlie.
Solid starting lineup but I'd be a bit worried that the best scorer off the bench would be Matt Bonner. Of course though, we could use the MLE or maybe some leftover cap space to sign a free agent. Brezec at center looks pretty weak, and I don't know if Gay can be successful starting at shooting guard as a rookie playing a position which isn't his natural one. I'd much rather prefer Mo Pete but he is in the last year of his contract. If Graham can step his game up, we'll be set. PS: With Shard and Brezec in the frontcourt along with Bosh, we won't be a good rebounding team...
Charlie and Lewis's game are very similar IMO except Lewis is more polished. Both can score inside out and both are 6'10-6'11. However i feel that Charlie can turn out to be better than Lewis if he keeps working hard at it. On the other side, Primo i dont' think is a capable starting Center.. I see him more of a bench player than a starter.. And i also think we can get Luke Ridnour for something cheaper than Charlie. Or maybe we can trade down #1 for #10 and Luke..
I really dont like that Seattle trade. I think its better to keep Charlie, hes younger, taller, larger, and we have only seen one season out of Charlie. When do NBA players reach their prime? 25? Charlie and Bosh will be solid for years together. I also think that Mike James is worth alot more than trading down and getting Brezec. If we were the ones giving the 3rd and getting the 1st pick, then id do it, not the other way around. Id rather package that pick with guys that we need to dump, like Eric Williams and Loren Woods.
Pass on the seattle trade and the Charlotte trade unfortunetly Better idea for the charlotte trade would be to get Brevin Knight and their pick. Not sure how you could broker that, especially since i feel Peterson, Bosh, CV31 are all "untouchables" at this point
good feedback guys i knew about brevin knight being available...but i like ridnour a whole lot better then knight either way...im just playin around with ideas lol
^^because they are one of the worst offensive teams in the league? but maybe they dont...they probably dont...this isnt something to be taken seriously...its just me foolin around with the trade checker
here's why it wouldn't make sense from a bobcat perspective-they already have two, starting quality pg and with the addition of james they would have three. and btw, james is adament that he wants to play the one so i don't see him accepting playing the two.
I don't like the Seattle trade, I like CV31 more than Shard (he has foot problems and isn't as young), and Mo Pete is pretty solid for us, although I like Ridnour. I think it would be nice to keep Mo Pete. Bobcats don't need Mike James, because they have Raymond Felton and Brevin Knight. However if they were willing to do that trade I would do it.
Why on Earth would you want to trade the #1 pick and Mike James for Primoz Brezec? The Raptors need to keep ahold of CV31, he is going to be a star in this league.

LukeIamyourfather is a future super stud, actually, he's already a stud.
Ugh, this thread is over a month old...Plentyyy has happened to our roster since then. Please don't bring old threads like this back to life.
