The team has the No. 5 pick in the first round. </div> Do you guys really think the hawks will get him at 5?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post">Please, not another forward. Unless they're letting Harrington go.</div> Williams is a true blue big man unlike Harrington or the rest of their guys. This selection makes sense. I think Tyrus Thomas would have been a more ideal fit, but he'll be gone by the time the Hawks choose. Anyway, I like Shelden Williams. Too many people look into "his lack of height," which is so retarded to me. If Williams was listed as 6'10 or 6'11 I think he'll be a strong candidate for the #1 pick. Two or three more inches is like the size of your thumb--it's not significant enough to really have an impact on your game. If the Hawks made him a promise, I would support it. With Williams and Pachulia Atlanta should make be ridiculous on the boards next year.
Yeah I like Shelden aswell, he is one of my favourite basketball players. You're right, there is not a great difference between being 6'9, and 7'0, so it should'nt really be a factor there, I just dont want to see the Hawks pick another forward if they're keeping ahold of Harrington, especially when they need to fill the void at PG. Josh Smith/Shelden Williams would be an awesome front court though, swatting shots left, right and centre. The Swat Team
Shelden only measured in at 6'7.75", which isnt bad with his attitude but, he's not a C for the NBA unless he proves us all wrong. Shelden would be a good pick none the less IMO.
I would take Marcus Williams. He would go great with a player like Josh Smith, Childress, Johnson etc. Tyron Lue and Royal Ivy are not starting NBA point guards.
