<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a post-game interview with ESPN, a heated Josh Howard denied calling timeout twice before refs charged the team with their final timeout, potentially costing them the game.

"If that's what he's saying, that's what he's saying. I know I didn't call a timeout twice. I didn't even say nothing to anyone. I just made a sign like that." [Howard places his hands in the shape of a 'T'] - Howard told ESPN's Daily Dime.

Howard eventually lost his cool and erupted on the reporter.

"What am I saying to you right now, dog? Please, don't come off on me right now because I'm going to come off on you, and I'm not in a great mood right now. Get out of my face, man. Get out of my face." </div>

Riiiiiigggghhhttt..... so he claims to not have called a time out, yet he states he made the universal hand signal for timeout with no intentions of one being called, makes sense.....

no one wants to take responability for F'ing up that play. Only call a timeout when you actually want the time out. How do you blame a ref when you called a time out. LOL this league is full of crybabies.

Some rules should be strictly enforced. But something like giving a team the timeout when they clearly didn't want it, that's retarded. What's the big deal in the ref just saying, "Ok, you didn't want the timeout now? Fine. You get it after the second free throw." The Mavs aren't gaining an extra advantage with that.

Basically, the refs hijacked the game and didn't let actual basketball plays on the court decide the outcome.

Howard made a mistake by calling the TO he was supposed to call too soon.
He called it once by signalling the ref. The refs knew Dallas was going to call a timeout. Big deal. Howard's worst mistake was missing the free throws. But the coach has got to take the blame for not taking the ball out of Wade's hands on Miami's last few possessions. Still, Wade is carrying Miami. When is Dirk going to quit worrying about getting blocked or pushed and use his length? He should be throwing down 35 a night on Miami. Dirk should be getting at least 15 pts. on the foul line. That's where Wade is getting his pts. If all of Dallas' starters had played as hard as Howard the series would be over.

</div> Of course it would have given them an advantage. Do you mean like a 2 second one or a 30 second one? With the comotion going on the extra time could have iced wade up.

Wait I'm a little confused. How many TO's did the Mavs have when Howard called for one. Did they have two and Howard called timeout twice?

They only had one, so once Howard used the last one, they couldn't advance the ball.
