1. Brandon Roy - Not gonna happen. 2. Ronnie Brewer - Most likely who we will draft, will be the best player available for us. 3. Rodney Carney - If Brewer is gone then get Carney. He is possibly the most athletic player in this draft. 4. JJ Redick - If all of the above are gone (unlikely), then JJ is the way. I really won't be dissapointed if we draft Carney instead of Brewer though. They both would work well in Orlando I think. 9 more days!
Well if we trade up 1.Brandon Roy 2.Rudy Gay 3.Ronnie Brewer 4.Rodney Carney 5.Randy Foye If we stay at #11 1.Ronnie Brewer 2.Rodney Carney 3.Shannon Brown 4.Randy Foye 5.J.J. Redick

Redick</div> I agree with your list except for Patrick O'Bryant. I would be against drafting him just because we are already pretty deep at the PF/C positions with 2 20 year olds, so we don't really need another future PF/C. I think we should draft a SG. I completely forgot about Foye haha. I knew there was a player i was forgetting. I will change my list now.
1a. Bradon Roy Exactly what the Magic need, probably would have to trade up to get him because if he falls past #6 I can assure that a lot of teams will be interested in trading up for 7, 8, or 9. 1b. Rudy Gay Either Gay or Roy would be awesome but again, you would most likely have to trade up for Rudy because if he falls past #7 it would most likely be another team that would trade up. 3. Rodney Carney It would be interesting to see him in a Magic uniform, great size that can play next to Jameer. 4. Ronnie Brewer Brewer or Carney would be great if you stay at 11. Both have great size to again play next to Jameer in the back-court. 5. Randy Foye Not the player I would pick but he obviously has the talent to be a great player. The question is, will Jameer and Foye in the same backcourt be a defensive liability?

I hope we trade the pick if it ever gets down to #5 on our lists, but if he's still there I think he would be the 5th best player to pick for the pick, despite the defensive liability.
As long as we address the SG position with one of the above mentioned names we should come out of this draft looking very good. Im hearing a lot of rumors about us trading up, hopefully we can Roy some how, even though it is unlikely.
I can't wait and I'm so pumped. I always get like this before the draft, the season opener and the playoffs if the Magic are ever in it again. BTW, The Heat better enjoy their rings now because next year, we will be on top in the Southeast Division.
NBADraft.net has us picking J.J. Redick. Why is everyone down on him? found this on youtube JJ Redick highlights

We would be so bad starting JJ and at best, he would be 4th or 5th option. I believe he needs to be 2nd or 3rd option to be an effective pro. I think he has a pretty solid career, but I just don't think he fits in Orlando.

If you look back at his days in Duke, Coach K had the whole offense revolved around his ability to shoot for about two years and that's only what he can do, shoot. With Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson already in the fold, I don't think that the Magic would be willing to run specific plays to free up Redick because he certainly can't create his own shot, which leads me to my next point, he's slow. Some guys weren't great defensive players in college but they have the tools (long arms, quick feet) to be an average defender in the NBA that gets the job done (isn't a liability). Redick on the other hand, has none of these tools and doesn't even have a legit shot of being a half decent defender. I don't care how hard he works at it or studys defenses, you can't get quicker over night and his arms can't grow. So yes, he would pose as a defensive liability which is the same reason people are not too sure on Randy Foye. Redick also went into a slump for three seasons in a row around the 25th game, where the NCAA tourament would start, and probably cost his team a win or two. 25 games in the NBA isn't a lot at all, it's barley over 1/4 of the season. One would have to question his back (as Gatorsown said) and his endurence during an 82 game season (plus playoffs). Roy > Gay > Carney > Brewer > Foye > Shannon Brown > Maurice Ager > Redick Not how they are talent wise, but how they would fit in the Magic's system...

Also Brewer doesn't really force many shots and has a great attitude of wanting to work on his weaknesses. He also has the team mentality. Carney forces a lot of shots, I'm not sure about his attitude and he seems more of a me-first player. The reason why we made that huge run at the end of the season was because we were using teamwork. I believe only a quarter of our games in our run at the end, we had someon ethat shot over 13 or 14 shots. That's how balanced we were and I look for it to continue. Look to see the entire starting lineup over 10 ppg next year.
Do you really think Jameer is a shoot first PG? We've both seen him. I like Carney better than Brewer or even Gay (actually I like Brewer better than Gay. I do NOT want Rudy Gay.) Roy is the goal though.

He gets his fair share of assists, but he looks to shoot first, IMO. You would consider Francis to be a shoot first PG right? Francis has a career avg of 6.3 apg. So you can't just look at the assists and say that they aren't a shoot first guy. That's just my opinion though. He is a very underrated passer though, but I would definetely consider him shoot first before I would consider him pass 1st.
1. Brandon Roy 2. Ronnie Brewer 3. Rudy Gay 4. Rodney Carney 5. Randy Foye (only because of his size I think he is the most talented one)
Gators, you know I'm a ridiculous Jameer fan. I don't think he looks to soot or pass, I think he sees the court and does whatever he can to get the ball in the basket, if that means hitting someone else would be easiest, that's what he does. If not and he has the shot, he takes it. I rarely question his decisions about when to shoot. But your right, he's not a pass first PG, hes not looking for shots or assists, he's looking to win however possible.
