Tyrus Thomas just shutdown his workout with the Blazers, and rumors have circulated he's received a promise by one of the teams picking in the top 3. By process of elimination I'm guessing the Bulls are the team.

Tyrus doesn't make any sense in Toronto unless the team is trading Villanueva. Hard to imagine the Raptors would give up on CV this early.

The last thing the Bobcats need is another forward and it sounds like they are deciding between Rudy Gay or Brandon Roy at #3.

This leaves the Bulls as the only team left in the top 3. Tyrus Thomas also makes sense for the Bulls because his style of play fits in. He works on both ends and is the athletic power forward this team needs. Tyrus is also confident he can play SF in the NBA. If he can, he gives the Bulls a lot of flexibility in their lineups.

I have heard numerous reports we are planning on taking Thomas, and quite honestly I’m praying there not true. Thomas has said in interviews throughout the draft process that he considers himself a true three, and not a big man. He said he would not mind adjusting his game to fit into the four spot for teams, but he is not the big man we need, nor does he have the polished inside scoring game.

Thomas reminds me way to much of Tyson Chandler. Despite claims that he has good range, and has shown he can be a good shooter in workouts, none of us have seen that to this point. He seems to full of himself as well reminds me of JR Smith. I don’t think he will handle criticism well. He has all the tools, but his attitude is a huge question mark for me.

When it comes down to it. I hope we don’t draft him he is not what we need, nor do I think he is the best player available. Of the big three where considering at that pick (Aldridge, Roy, and Thomas) Tyrus is the third best player in my opinion.

I've also heard they have a trade set up with the #2, hopefully with the Warriors because we need a guy like Tyrus to guard the Marions, KGs, and Dirks out west.

Why would they take Tyrus when he is pretty much the same type of player as Tyson Chandler? Good defensively, limited offensively (though Thomas is a good passer and has good vision).

Unless the Bulls trade Tyrus on draft day, the franchise is doomed. What a waste of a lottery pick.

Not feeling this pick for the Bulls at all. They want a big? LaMarcus Aldridge? Andrea Bargnani? I have my doubts about Thomas and I think the Bulls could do much better @ the #2 pick.

How about #2 and Chandler for Murphy, Pietrus, #9 and 07 1st rounder?

LOL The Bulls don't have Isiah Thomas for their GM. That's a horrible trade.

I actually wouldn't mind that trade at all. We get rid of Tyson Chandler and his big contract, and get a good big man in return (Murphy). We also get the ninth pick, the Bulls have really fell in love with Brewer, but know there is almost no chance he will still be on the board at 16 (he doesn’t pass Seattle). If we got the number nine pick we could get Brewer then draft a big man with the sixteenth pick the Bulls where very impressed by Sene. We also get the 07' first rounder if the Warriors and Knicks both miss the playoffs we might have two lottery picks again. I'm in the same boat at Michiganave though. Although, I don't like Thomas or feel he is a good fit. I trust Paxson's judgement.

I got myself confused, I was watching the World Cup. I ment to say, I don't think Golden State would do this, at least unless you throw in the #16 as well.

That?s an interesting trade I would love to get rid of Chandlers contract. Pietrus would be able to give us some size at shooting guard. Murphy is a good low post scorer, which is something we are in need of. We may be losing are #2 pick but we are getting the #9 and an 07 1st rounder, which I think is the best part of the deal. There will probably be a lot more talent in next years draft than there is in this years. If both the Knicks and Warriors have bad years we could end up with two high picks in a draft that may have the likes of Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, Thaddeus Young, Joakim Noah, Julian Wright, Brandon Wright, and Al Horford just to name of few.[IMG]

Why would you guys pass on Lamarcus aldridge is what im still wondering..he is wut you guys need.. i think toronto will select Adam Morrison not a big man.that trade works nice because than you guys wil have two lottery pics because i dont see golden state getting to the playoffs without a jermaine oneal type player.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LSU?s Tyrus Thomas was back at the Berto Center on Tuesday to complete his predraft workout for the Bulls.

Thomas was originally in town last Thursday, but he cut his session short after about 35 minutes because of an upset stomach. No word on whether Thomas had any competition at his workout, since the Bulls never officially announced that it was taking place.

Thomas canceled a workout in Portland that was scheduled for Tuesday. A Blazers staff member told the Oregonian newspaper the team was informed by one of Thomas? agents that the 6-foot-8 forward had a promise to be chosen by a team with one of the top three picks. Portland has the No. 4 selection in the June 28 NBA Draft.

That bit of information led to internet rumors that the Bulls had either promised to select Thomas with the No. 2 pick or had a trade in place with some team that will choose Thomas.

A Bulls source said the team has not promised Thomas anything and there have been no serious trade talks regarding the No. 2 pick.

That's some good news (what BKS just posted)... I'm not high on Thomas either, and pretty much agree with BKS about him wanting to play 3.

Exactly how I feel, I personally wouldn't take Tyrus, especially since Bargnani or Aldridge will be available. I'd easily take one of those two over him, but Pax has seen them all, and if he thinks Tyrus fits this team better than the aformentioned players, then I trust him.

I don't know what to belive these days as far as giving a promise to a player and what not. The draft right now looks like such a blur at the top that I can't remember anything close to it. Nobody will know what's going down with the number two pick until we see what Toronto does with the number one.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Tyrus Thomas flew into Houston today for measurements and an interview, DraftExpress learned today. Thomas' agent Brian Elfus would not deny nor confirm the visit, stating that he has "no comment." Thomas flew in from Baton Rouge for a brief visit and flew back to Louisiana just a few hours later. Thomas did not workout for the Rockets due to a groin injury he suffered earlier this week in Chicago.

Thomas was seeking assurances that the Chicago Bulls will draft him with the #2 pick, but has received nothing of that nature at this point.

DraftExpress was informed by multiple sources that Tyrus Thomas also conducted a “very private meeting" with the Timberwolves on Wednesday at the Target Center, further confirming the notion that he is still searching for a floor if the Bulls decide to go in another direction with the #2 pick</div>
