Did you notice how wearin'the Air France Mp's...Kobe just looks like a mere Mortal? Put on them Duns and he looks like an F-15. I do like the Air France MP's better, but may want to get a guide dog so I don't get lost. woohoo- I'm FLYin'.... sacre bleu!
Well, fans of the Air France/Air Pietrus shoes might as well buy them now before they're as ridiculously priced as the Duns, the Fishers, the Murphs and the Foyles.
Yeah -- I've been sporting my new Duns at open gym -- it's cool because I only score 2 points a night but I take like 27 charges but it sucks because no one calls charges at open gym - if they did I'd be the dominant force on the court; it just sucks when I flop on my own teammates in traffic -- but I just say "it's the shoes man!" and they don't seem to mind
Custodian, it sounds like you've got too much pent-up humor. And that can only mean one thing: WARRIORS POETRY CORNNNNNNEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the great thing about it is that I don't even have to change anything with the other players, except add in Baron Davis. The Warriors traded for Baron Davis Allstar talent is what the Hornets gave us We began winning late in a losing season Which gave folks a good enough reason That next year Bdiddy would singlehandedly save us An out of shape Baron Davis was on a mission To give Warriors fans what they've all been wishin A run n' fun chance at the post season With threes, alley oops for crowd pleasin' Too bad that we get smoked in transition Foyle at center was rolling the dice Mullin thought his stability and defense would suffice He could also score some in the lane If throwing a pass to him wasn't in vain Proving that Mullin will overpay if you're nice Andris Biedrins is Latvian thunder A replacement for the whole Foyle blunder He can dunk it down and catch a pass But has foul trouble and lack of mass Not to mention foul shooting worse than Stevie Wonder
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post"> Not to mention foul shooting worse than Stevie Wonder</div> WEAK DUDE!! how does this thread have so many posts. i think it has more than the whole minny forum combined.
I wasn't trying to imply that blind people who don't play professional basketball can't shoot free throws very well. I'm merely saying that Latvian 19 year old, 7 footers who play on the Warriors, can't.
Ditto It's no oxymoron either. There are some blind people that play in the nba. Ever heard of Derek Fisher at point guard?
That guy would shoot at the other team's basket if it meant canning one more three to add to his stats

D.) overpaid E.) just like their Warriors teammates, doing something other than playing in May and June. Maybe fishing. F.) All of the above
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">Man, you guys every single one of your players. </div> Well, it's pretty simple. When we lack a true franchise player that makes everyone of our guys better, we simply have just 5 players that when combined, make everyone around themselves even worse. Especially, when they all stand around off the ball and the coach has a way with not playing rookies. I don't necessarily disagree if that is better for the rookies, better for relationship with Mullin who signed most of those players longterm. Too many defensive liabilities on the floor, too many holes to cover up, too few ways to score that would make defenders play us honestly, and too many costly turnovers, too many missed free throws, too little organization and off the ball movement, too little intermediate range game, too many 3-point misses which cause us to defend a fastbreak going the other way, very little fluid ball movement, too few touches inside the paint because our players down there suck. Generally, we play a low % guard-based game that was supposed to be run n' fun, but didn't even have the substance to play a style that could be adjusted according to what our opponents threw at us. Our offense or defense couldn't adjust to play it slow or fast, so we never controlled the tempo like the Suns or the Pistons did and we fall nowhere in between. We're sort of like bad at both offense and defense. We're great at going fastbreak speed in order to score because there's less thinking and players having to coordinate concisely, but we're terrible running back to defend the other way. Plus, it doesn't always work because defenses can be set long before we even push the ball up, so we're stuck in half court again. We also take a lot of threes regardless of fast or slow tempo, because nobody really creates their own shot well with the ball and nobody moves off the ball to get open (remembering and executing plays). Guys usually holding onto the ball the longest just plain have bad shot selection and that doesn't help get the other 4 guys motivated to move, especially if they don't know what the play is. We try to play it slow, be careful of posessions, and then end up running plays that don't work (because they aren't being executed well with the way our center/guard play is or they just don't work). Either way we are damned predictable and fire up either 3-point shots in desperation or impatience or we go to the hole and get fouled where the guys who get the most touches can't even make free throws. Then we also have no intermediate range game, guards that call for screens, guys other than guards who can kick out and spread the floor with deep positioning in the paint etc, etc. Very few fundamentals and an overrated offense. It's because this team never wanted to play the right way from day one, they didn't have the right personnel to mix it up on offense and play defense, and now they are behind in strategy, talent they should have invested in to give this team direction and also organization. Guys only get better as a team if they practice the plays that can work (either get the right personnel to execute inside-outside play or axe the play altogether and find another way). I also think these players wait until the new season to begin and made their team judgements based on crap they did before the last season ended when nobody cared about playing the Warriors. We beat Dallas silly last season, but was that an indicator of how we play in an 82 game season against guys actually worried about us in the post season? hell no. Again, guys like Foyle (the epitomy of Warriors undersized, slow, bball dumb, clumsy, raw, but nice attitude, great for the community, and very smart) is another over-optimistic, clueless vet who will talk after a meaingless game how we're finally turning the corner and that (meaningless) game's performance is an indicator (or dipstick) of what this team can do. Blah blah blah. Then there's Dunleavy who gripes about the same things that I do, but couldn't even do anything about the situation if he tried unless he starts to step up and become an offensive threat to worry about. Then there's even star players like Baron Davis who are given the reigns and can't do much about defenders that decide to pack in the paint. But yet he insists about holding onto the ball, still getting nothing, and then casts a long three which probably has even a lesser chance of going in than Fisher doing the same thing. I could go on, but this is turning into a long post like the other times I ranted about our players not being a great fit and the strategy being impossible to accomodate every single one of our most heavily invested-in players. I never really believed that adding in one player (and injured guy too) would really change the direction of this franchise or help it rebound after a losing decade. So I'll be patient for the long term because that's what fans need to do. Otherwise, we'll be a team trying to find the quick fix for everything. A playoff team unfortunately has to find the right players that fit and can compete in a way that few teams can match (right now we can't match and most teams can definitely match what we do). Having a franchise player helps build that direction a lot quicker and it makes guys on the team a whole lot better. It's too early to say whether Baron Davis is a franchise player. Right now I'm seeing Marbury or Francis and that's not generally the type of attitude the point guard should have. It should be more like Nash, Kirk Hinrich, Jkidd, Andre Miller, Chris Paul, Mike Bibby, Brevin Knight. Some of them aren't franchise point guards, but they do contribute a lot in making other guys better than they really are. Any one of these pure points or sons of coaches can tell a guy they can't let emotions judge their ability to do their job, find a way to make others better, and do it no matter how bad they are. You only step up if the situation calls for it and you take shots within the flow. It's only if you make those shots can you play like Arenas, Billups, Cassell or any one of these scoring combos. Unfortunately our scoring combo has no midrange game to speak of like the others and can't shoot free throws. That's risky business for a guy that shoots a lot and goes to the hole a lot. Opposing team's defenders: "So we can play off Baron Davis and dare him to shoot and also foul him if he tries to dunk/layup and he won't be able to punish us? Sweet! Now let's do the same thing to Jrich. We can also avoid guys like Foyle and Dunleavy because those guys don't do anything but miss or drop passes. We can guard Murphy, but don't worry about moving because he stands around like a statue trying to shoot threes or being ready to run back in transition the minute the ball hits rim. Plus, if he gets the ball, it's jab-step-jab-step, pump fake, pump fake, step back jumper without looking for any passing"
When Custodian answers a question, it stays answered... ...even if it wasn't actually a question... I did love the limericks though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting wtwalker77:</div><div class="quote_post">When Custodian answers a question, it stays answered... ...even if it wasn't actually a question... I did love the limericks though.</div> Well, it's something I have to do for non-Warriors fans who thought the Warriors were playoff bound. There's more than meets the eye than just adding one player who is not only hurt most of the time, but is responsible for the way the Warriors already-shaky offense runs. If Baron the point guard draws double teams, its icing on the cake when it comes to passing (provided that guys catch and get open for him). If not, he settles for these long, stupid threes that spawn fastbreaks going the other way. Then since he's arguablly our best player and the piece that makes our team go, we rightfully or unjustly blame guys like Montgomery and guys who have underperformed like Dunleavy and Foyle when we're confronted with actually having to play half-court because guys 1.) don't know what to do in the open court, 2.) we can't run because defenders beat us back down, 3.) we're giving up too many point opportunities and easy field goals trying to play that sloppy way, 4.) or we aren't settling for good enough shots and moving the ball around. Baron should pass more and listen to what the coaches are saying, other guys should help out and do their job and get open. I guess I don't need to let Warriors fans know how mismatched our players are with each other and are mismatched with a coach trying to get them to play organized, but is in over his head and is not far from sharing some blame. No defense all together, poor inside play with high volume shooting guards and guys who have no true position or team fundamentals, makes for a low % game. That wasn't hard to figure out. If it was hard for some analysts or regular fans who don't really pay attention to detail, they need to check the Las Vegas odds on the Warriors chances of winning. Unlike guys who make money writing news articles about sports, guys who bet on sports have to be right or else they are eating Alpo straight from the can and wearing burlap with a rope tied around as a belt.
