<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GatorsowntheNCAA:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh no, please don't turn this into a Kobe/Wade war again. Just let it go for tonight and let the Heat fans enjoy the moment. Then tomorrow make a thread about how Kobe is better than Wade.</div> I don't want to argue about it either which is why I made a point to say "individually", I'd take Wade on my team any day of the week.
Coming from a Wade fan (I also am a Mavs fan) he got his way with the refs EVERY time. The refs, like previously and correctly stated, were horrendous! It's okay for the refs to be Wade/Heat fans but thats going a little to far. But I have to give it up to Wade and the Heat. Game 3 changed everything. BTW I thought the sign: "Fall 7 times get up 8... Lose 2 times and win 4" was really funny
Dont get me wrong, Dwayne Wade played a HELL of a series and a postseason all together, but please dont tell me you see MJ out there. Until he does it without Shaq, he is just another Superstar player. Until he doesnt it on his own, he is in the same book as Kobe. Kobe won 3 rings with Shaq, shouldnt he be the next MJ. Wade is special, but he is not the best player in the league. He played over and beyond what everyone thought he would and I agree with that but I still think Kobe and Lebron are better players.
Dwyane Wade has to be the best player in this league. Don't give me **** about calls, Dallas got tons of calls tonight and we overcame it, dont take away from our title with an excuse like that. Pat Riley was the perfect coach for this team I don't think any other coach could've done this for this team. I am extra happy for Gary Payton and Alonzo Mourning. Zo gave it his all tonight and really showed his will to win. If you watch Shaq and Wade's interview you know their bond is so unique and Shaq WILL BE BACK next year. Memo to Pat Riley and Mickey Arrison, GIVE DWYANE WADE A MAX CONTRACT TOMORROW!!!!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Wade:</div><div class="quote_post">Don't take it too seriously? That's hilarious! You want to tell me who's a better player than Dwyane Wade as of this moment? Or change Shaq's personal opinion of the best coach he ever played for? GO HEAT.</div> When Shaq was winning Championships with the Lakers he said that Kobe Bryant was the best player in the NBA and that Phil Jackson was the best coach. HE also went as far as to say that he would not play for any other coach besides Phil. Still Hilarious?

Michael Jordan never won a championship without Pippen, who is one of the greatest players in NBA history. Does that diminish any of Jordan's championships. You can argue that Pippen contributed a lot more to the Bulls championships than Shaq did this year with the Heat. He couldn't even be trusted to be on the floor at the most critical points of the game. He was a shell of his former self and was far from dominating.

You telling me that you'd take present Shaq over Pippen? You'd take Wade's supporting cast over the one Jordan had. It's aight though, because I know you've never seen MJ play, and you're just pretending to know what you're talking about. Lebron and Kobe get just as many calls as Wade, as does Dirk. When you're as aggressive as he is, you get calls. The Heat won this series, and the refs had nothing to do with the outcome. Kobe won his rings with a dominant Shaq, while Wade won his with an average Shaq, maybe that means Wade is better?

w00000000000000 As my sig sais, I called it after they signed Walker and Williams!! (As did Rock4Life) They were up 3-2 last year against DET. Wade got injured and things went downhill, I knew he wasn't going to forget that this year!!! WOOOOO! YEA WADE IS THE BEST. BY THE END OF HIS CAREER HE WILL BE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE LEAGUE!!!!! One fould that Wade got though (he shoved Dirk). OH WELL THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT THEY CAME BACK 4-0!!! YEA!
Man this was a hell of a series. One of the greatest finalsin a long time and a hell of a comeback by Miami. Even though I was going for Dallas, I gotta give Miami their props. Great job by D-Wade. He is proving to me that he is right now the best player in the league. I am really glad that Zo and GP finally got their rings. Both of them and the whole team deserved this way more than the Mavs did. So i say that Heat really deserved what they got. Two guys who played a really good game who had a big part in this game were Haslem and Posey. Very good games by them two. And last but not least, Mr. Wade. What a great series. 4 straight wins. Miami and all the 15 guys deserved this. Great game!

Great job by Mavs also, but they were just unlucky in Games 3 and 5 which I think they could've won, but luck wasn't on there side. Great Series by Heat and great coaching by Riley. Good Job Wade and Congratulations to Miami Heat for a great championship!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting a13x:</div><div class="quote_post">That pretty much says it all. Going from 2-0 to drop four straight had a lot more to do with play than refs. I will say that i thought the foul call on dirk at the end where wade was driving in and he pushed off him before dirk even made contact was even made was the worst ever. Amazing series for wade, it never fails to impress me how fearless the guy is to take a hit...</div> Stop whining ..........What ur leaving out the equation is the free throws Jason Terry missed right before that play even occured. And for the record, that was a foul on Dirk. Somebody even has the pic of Dirk's hand pullin down on Wade elbow. Go figure. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting spawn:</div><div class="quote_post">If anything, I have the most respect for D-Wade in this league right now. He's singlehandedly the best player. Period.</div> Don't get carried away now. Kobe has 3 rings, nuff said. But I give the young man his credit, he's earned his spot in the top 5. I told ya'll at the beginning the Heat were gonna win it. Lookin at the make up of the that team, I KNEW they were the best team in the league. I boldly stated it, and it's glad to see my statement become a reality. Thank you Justbball for allowing me the opportunity to accept this award. Thank you (while I step down from the podium)

When Jordan played defenses had a lot more liberty with what they could get away with. Defenders could use both hands on the offensive player, now the defender isn't allowed to touch an offensive player at all. The NBA was a lot more physical when Jordan was winning titles. It's not to say Dwyane Wade wouldn't have been as successful back then, but he wouldn't get a lot the calls he gets in today's game and also wouldn't be able to get past his defender with ease like he does now.

Reason being that hard hand-checking wasn't used nearly as much defensively in the 80s, compared to the mid-90s (popularized by the NY Knicks). And weren't people complaining back then that Jordan would get a ton of questionable calls "just for breathing on him"?

He used to get punished by defenses when he first started out. Remember the "Jordan Rules" the Detroit Bad Boys used against him? They beat the crap out of Jordan during those playoff games. There's actually a wikipedia entry for it ... The Jordan Rules Wade in just his 3rd year is getting the superstar treatment from the officials.
Trench: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When Shaq was winning Championships with the Lakers he said that Kobe Bryant was the best player in the NBA </div> Well, he hadnt yet played with Dwyane Wade.
The refs had nothing to do with this series, are you kidding me?? A foul with 1.3 seconds left when the heat are down one... You're right they had nothing to do with it. Admit it Wade acts as much as he has talent. I know he can play this game, he showed that with his ability to shoot at will and get to the rim. But he falls after every freakin shot, throws his arms for no reason. You can mention him as one of the top players in the league right now, but until this is done over more than one season, leave the jordan visions alone. No one is hating, I admit Wade can flat out play, I just dont care for his game. If he didnt fall all the time, I would think he is up there with Iverson as one of the most scrappy players. Oh well, think what you want too. But the heat did win, so known of this really matters. Congrats Heat.
