A.I. would be a great fit on the Mavs. What would it take though? S&T Terry, Stack, and the 1st round pick for A.I. and filler?

I can't believe A.I. to the Mavs has not been rumored, especially with the Mavs deep pool of talent.

If I'm Philly, I'm requestiong S&T Terry, Stack, and Daniels at least.

How about no? The Mavericks fell short only two games in the NBA Finals, why break the team up and get Iverson. I respect Iverson and what he has done throughout his entire career, but he’s probably the toughest player to build a team around. Iverson is the type of player who needs to be “the man” and I don’t think this will change if he was in a Mavericks uniform. Stackhouse is the Mavericks’ most reliable scorer off the bench and plays with the type of energy they need. Terry’s presence as a clutch performer is valuable. Even though Iverson is a clutch player, Terry seems like the better fit for this team being a good outside shooter.

You just don’t break up a championship-caliber team after one setback. For what the Mavericks would have to give up for Iverson, he wouldn’t be a good fit. Just add a minor piece and the Mavericks could get over the hump this time. Trading for Iverson isn’t the solution.

Dirk own't get enought touches with Iverson on his team. If I were Dallas I would keep this team because they were just two games short of the finals.

I like Dallas the way they are, they shouldn't trade for AI. Like you guys said they were 2 games away from the championship or even one call away from Game 7. Terry, Stack and a 1st rounder? Would be a decent deal if that happened because the Mavs are so deep, but I just can't see AI in a Mavs uniform. Harris and AI would be a fast backcourt. In the end just resign Terry and keep the Mavs the way they are. Josh Howard will learn from his mistakes and grow as a player. There's no way he's going to call a timeout again...the Mavs will win a championship sooner or later with this core...

Word. Dirk and AI would be fighting for ball posessions.

Look what Dirk did last game. Having AI would be a huge bonus.

AI is the answer for the Mavs. I'd be really happy if we can get AI without giving up Howard or Dirk. Dirk's definitely not the guy who wants to be the #1 option on the floor. Having AI, Dirk and Howard on the floor is a defensive nightmare for the opposition. Dirk will get much more open looks with AI(*if he passes the ball). Dirk doesnt need the ball in his hand to be effective. He's a better catch and shoot player and doesnt have to be uncomfortable playing in the low post. Howard can stay under the basket to get easy tip in's off Iverson's misses. Come on Cuban, get the deal done.

AI isnt the answer if you ask me. We would need to play with more than one ball to accomodate all of the scorers on the team. Also, this team is pretty young, and AI is into his thirties. Dirk showed himself a worthy first option all throughout the playoffs and just had a poor series. People seem to forget how he put the Mavs on his back through the WCF.
