I think I'm going to be sick. I thought the Dolphins might win this game and it looks like they stunk up the joint. Did anyone see this game? I know Zach Thomas was injured, but I haven't heard how long. I'm trying to keep the faith, but this is a tough loss to stomach.
This was supposed to be a W for the phins. I looked at the score and thought WTF. Did Saban have jitters returning to Cleveland?
I was calling for Lemonade my the end....Rosenfels wasnt nearly as bad as the numbers were, his picks came when he was crushed as he let the ball go and the recievers dropped several passes....at the end, I think Ill be glad they lost this game as it will help teh draft status....I figure that as long as they are somewhere in the top 3 they will get a shot at either Bush(letting him return kicks, play some WR and playing Rickys current role on teh offense would be nice), Leinart, or Ferguson....
they will go for Leinart if he is still on the board, no way will they draft Bush, unless they are planning on doing a detroit on it and drafting a Rb in the 1st round for the next 25 years!!
Saban is on record as stating that his teams starting RB position is a 2-man job....so assuming they trade Ricky Williams, which I think they will, theres no reason to think they wouldnt take the best player on the board, as they deem, when they draft, even if its another RB....and if thats Reggie Bush, then you take him and create a slash role for him....as in, 12-15 touches on offense, primarily on 3rd downs or when Ronnie Brown needs a breather, all the return duties(something you would never do with your primary RB), and some slot WR which he does do at USC....its not like it would be an unprecedented move to have a back and draft one(think Saints drafting McCallister, Giants drafting Dayne)....if you do that, your getting the ball in his hands 20+ times a game and Ronnie Brown still gets the workmans load of 25 touches on offense....if they deem the 2 players to be close in talent though, they take the QB....
What did u guys make of Saban's statements earlier this week about the W-L record not being important? You think he's mailing in this season to position himself better for April?
What did he say? After that loss to CLeveland, Im pretty sure he knows he doesnt have the talent to make the playoffs
This is what i took his meaning to be: you dont improve the result, you improve the method and the result will take care of itself....meaning that you win because you do things a certain way, not the other way around and therefore, the results really dont mean anything right now as far as winning and losing, what matters is laying the foundation for the future....I happen to love the honesty and the approach...I dont think that means hes playing for a draft pick, I think it means they are planning to run the team in such a way that they can evaluate all the players and see what they need, and to build that foundation....hes taking some heat for the commemts, but whats the point of winning a few more games this year if its counter-productive for the future? I really dont care if they win 3 games, 5 games, or 7 games....I care that they win one game, and its not played until February....it seems to me that his eyes are firmly set on the real prize, the Lombardi Throphy and hes not going to sacrifice even one minute of time he has with the team to win a little more now....so if they spend a little less time working on game plans and a little more time working on fundamentals, I dont have a problem with it, and I applaud him for it....In Saban We Trust....
Miami is rebuilding, so a surprise loss like this is fine. Heck, Miami has already had a major surprise win in Week 1. I would hope that Miami would draft Leinart. Bush is definitely the best player in the draft, but Miami needs a QB and needs one soon. I am sure they can find a servicable RB later in the draft.
I got from Nick's comments what Beef did about improving the process not the results. I had thought Miami would win 7 this yr but that looks dubious. Every Miami fan knew that it take time to clean up the giant Vanilla stain. The Dolphins should draft somewhere from 5 to 12 IMO. That is too early for Jay Cutler (Vandy) the QB I would like to see in a Phins uniform. I would prefer Bush to Leinart for the exct same reason Beef said. Ideally, I'd like to see Miami trade Madison to St Louis (who is always desperate for CB's) for 3rd or 4th rounder and then draft as follows on day 1. round 1 J. Williams CB Va Tech big physical CB (Saban's style) & could play safety round 2 Cutler QB Vandy or M Phillip Center Cal (if Cutler is gone) round 3 Eslinger Center Minnesota (if Phillip is gone) or OT
Yeah but what does that say to those fans who have tickets to the games? I don't doubt his abilities as a HC, but his press conferences don't do him any favors.

It's not like the Dolphins are trying to LOSE games. They've been playing hard and have been in some exciting games. Saban can't worry about fair-weather fans. I'm sure they'll jump back on the bandwagon once the Dolphins return to form.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kcgsc)</div><div class='quotemain'>I would guess all Southern Florida fans would be considered "fair weather" fans. </div> Hey Miami might be struggling but If South Florida wins out they'll be in the BCS. Yikes!!
