Dolan and Thomas felt that Brown had a negative influence on many players last season, chief among them Frye and Robinson. Assistant coach Herb Williams is expected to coach the summer-league team. The Knicks' front office didn't mind having Brown attend the pre-draft camp in Orlando or running workouts for prospects. But it wants to prevent Brown from having contact with players who will be on the opening night roster next season. I would still give him another year just to see if he could improve the team, but the way he coached the team last year I can understand where Dolan and Isiah are coming from.
