That is how i would describe carolina. Steve Smith is a player and the rest of the team sux. After watching the game, I would say beating carolina does not validate the bears as a legitimate contender, becuase, carolina is completely lacking in talent. If steve smith is hurt the team will never win again. Carolina played without heart, hustle, desire. They are not a super bowl contender, they have a long way to go.
That was the worst football ive ever seen, i dont understand how Wharton can allow like 5 sacks and then like 2 weeks ago he didnt allow Simeon Rice to get a sack or even a tackle. That is not carolina football, yall came out and were straight up physical
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GoChiagobears)</div><div class='quotemain'>well other panther fans think this was a meaningless game</div> the way you describe your other forum all of these people sound like they dont have any knowledge of the game, of course ti was a critical game, both teams now have the same record and it seems to me that the way the Panthers played they dont really seem like a team that will beat the better teams in the NFC, which is sad cause the NFC isnt that great
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Wannab Favre)</div><div class='quotemain'>Maybe the panthers overlooked the Bears, the Bears defense is really good this year!</div> I think the entire league is overlooking the Bears because they play in the NFC North. Like I said before I think the NFC North is no worse than the AFC East this season.
For sure, it is because the Vikings had really bad pres this year and the once powerful Packers have lost some of their once powerful offense due to injuries and such. The NFC north could produce the NFC Champions in the Bear, They have the best defense in the NFL. They had some growing pains in the first quarter of the season but really hav got something going here. If you look at Carolina's impressive win over the Bucs, then look at the Bears dominating win over the Panthers. We are certainly looking good
Look at NFC west, same win total. Look at bottom 3 teams in that division, and they have less wins than bottom 3 in NFC north. The truly worst division, is NFC west
it is just that when the NFC North lose, they do make some bad mistakes, like favre, culpepper and orton being picked five times against the bengals! But the NFC North is not as bad as it is said to be. I agree the west is the worst

Drew Carter is really turning into be a good WR for us. He blew right pass Tillman on that screen and he got like 20 yards, he could have got 30 but steped out of bounds. Carter is almost as fast as smith, but lacks change of direction

well it seems that Steve Smith was the whole team...unfortunately for Carolina he is easy to stop...just dont do what the bears did...they let him beat them and should have doubled him up...i think its easy to stop him like Dallas did and a few others did...you can shut him down he is not that good if you play him like flies on fly paper...look what happened to Peyton...when the pressure was on he was shut down...

Did anyone else play a good game on the team? Carter had a couple catches once we had to roll about 10 people to cover smith. It was all smith. I would go as far as to say steve smith singlehandedly beat the bears.
If this game did anything, it validated the statement.....Steve Smith was a one man wrecking crew....but in the history of the NFL, teams that have built the offense around a WR have been prone to be shut down at time, because if he doesnt play well, they have nothing else....Carolina could win the Super Bowl, but Steve Smith will have to play enormous games or they wont win....

Someone had to throw the ball, accurately I might add, someone had to protect the person throwing the ball, there were 12 completions to 8 other receivers, 97 yards rushing (minus Smith's yards), 3 field goals converted by someone else, and pretty good defense against the Bears offense, something with which he had nothing to do.
By scoring on a deep pass on the 2nd play of the game, he changed the complection of the event.....the Bears came out slinging it around because they were behind.....as far as the throws, they werent even accurate.....he won a jump ball that was thrown into double coverage, a sure int if he doesnt win it, he ran under 2 passes that were underthrown after the CBs fell or were rapped to the ground, and all the yards in the running came after Steve Smith got off and the defense backed off....all the catches from other players came after the Bears shifted the defense to focus on Steve Smith....take Steve Smith off the field yesterday and the final score is bears 13 panthers 0....

Jake was basically just lofting ball into air, and steve smith was making plays, 97 yards rushing were mostly setup by fast we need so much to slow smith down. 3 FGs coverted(setup by smith) and a missed xp, I guess missing XPs makes you good, and as for you D, thomas jones ran very well, and we scored 21(3 tds) which i think we did one other time this season. Great job giving up lots of pts to a bad offense.
