An argument can be made that former coach Don Nelson thought too much of Daniels, while current coach Avery Johnson thinks too little. His true value as a player is probably somewhere in between. But the laid-back Daniels isn't a fit with the fiery Johnson, and he doesn't push the ball in transition the way Johnson wants. If the Mavericks do look to trade Daniels, plenty of teams will express an interest. </div> Source The Mavs might be forced to trade Daniels in order re-sign Jason Terry. He's the odd man out in Avery's guard rotation because Avery is pushing Devin Harris to become a starter. If the Mavs decide to trade Daniels what should they try to shop him for?
Easy. Back-up PF or playmaking PG. We are deep in wing players and our two headed monster center combo seems adequate enough at this point in time. Personally, I don't want both Terry and Howard to start. This backcourt is way too small IMO. I don't necessarily want Daniels to go, I always thought he was a solid player
The Mavs already signed him though for a contract, so he's not going for a big contract anytime soon. I hope Marquis stays in the rotation, he's played well when given the chance and is really young. If I was the Mavs I would rather keep Marquis and trade Stackhouse, even though Stack has played INCREDIBLE and fits in well with the Mavs, difference is he's going to be 31, and Marquis isn't... If he does get traded, I hope he gets traded to the Bulls, that would be sweet, first jersey I'll buy since Gary Payton with the Sonics...I LoVe MaRqUiS.
