<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Team Needs: Bench, frontcourt depth, backup point guard.

Outlook: The Nets won 50 game thanks to two 10+ game winning streaks, but were inconsistent in between those streaks. They had a very solid starting 5, but had no bench to speak of. They will address a lot of needs in free agency, but they can start to build for the future as well by going after a couple of ready-now players as well as a project.

    Best Case Scenario:

Alexander Johnson- Johnson is 23 years old, which is very old for an NBA rookie, especially one from America. But Johnson can come in and play right away, something the Nets need out of at least one of the rookies they draft. He is more of a face-up power forward and can get up and down the floor with ease. He has the athleticism that translates well to the NBA and can get to the rim with ease. He will need to show a little more consistency on the glass, but he has the talent and athleticism that translates very well to the NBA.

Sergio Rodriguez- Rodriguez is a great fit in New Jersey. He won?t be asked to produce a lot immediately, but he loves to push the tempo and is best when making quick decisions. He tends to force the issue but calmed down throughout his season in Spain. He is a great pick & roll point guard and is a willing passer. He is young, so the Nets would have to be a little patient with him, but he will pan out, even if he is not there by the time the Nets pick.

    Worst Case:

They have to go after a couple of players like Paul Davis and Maurice Ager. They would both bring some on-court chemistry to a team dependent on it. But Ager would make the Antoine Wright selection a little iffy and Davis is not as good defensively or rebounding the ball as Johnson. Both would be very nice players for the Nets, but New Jersey would have to go after a point guard in free agency. And this crop of point guards is not great. They would be better off drafting a point guard and letting whoever they draft develop. Kyle Lowry is a possibility, but he does not have Rodriguez?s court vision or passing ability.</div>

Rodriguez is a bust.. I would not want him if Kyle Lowry, Dee Brown, Jordan Farmar, or Shandon Brown were available.
