Now that we are the champs we need to put ourselves in position to repeat.

    Re-Signing Players:

James Posey- Get him to sign that extension because he brings us a great hustle player who can give us key points off the bench and start when we need him to

Dwyane Wade- I know he hasn't expired yet, but give him his max deal now to avoid the situation of him even considering to leave Miami. He is not only our future but the future of the NBA.

Derek Anderson- He didn't play much, but when he did he wasn't bad. With Kapono most likely out of Miami he gives Dwyane a good backup who can give us good offense and a solid defensive player.

Shandon Anderson- One of those guys that doesn't come through stat wise, but his defense gives us someone who can guard the better SF's out there.

Alonzo Mourning- Convince Alonzo to come back for one maybe two more years. He can do it physically but the thought of retiring on top is going to be there. Pat needs to sit him down and tell him that now that the burden is off his back that he can go out there play with that intensity.

    NBA Draft:

Trade into the second round- Take a chance on a project player we have the time, who knows maybe it will work out but we can take the risk.

    Free Agency:

Use the MLE wisely- With Gary Payton most likely leaving we need someone to replace him. There will be a few guys to choose from including Speedy Claxton, Eddie House, and Bobby Jackson. All three would fit great because they have an offensive game. My choice would be House because he will fill our biggest weekness that being perimiter shooting.

Get Pat Riley to stay- Mickey Arrison needs to get Pat Riley to stay and I think he can do it. If Riley returns for a second season on the bench we could be looking at a repeat.

I think if we do all this in the offseason we will be good to go. The starting lineup will stay the same and the addition of that combo guard will help us a lot. Shaq may be declining, but Flash is only getting better. Shaq can still dominate games and that's what we need. Leave the heavy lifting to Dwyane and Shaq will have his moments as well.

I would love to have Eddie House back as well. He can come off the bench and shoot the lights out for 5-10 min.

Exactly he brings the energy factor as well and was a big fan favorite when he was down here.

^^That's true, but for him and Zo it would be easier for them to play without that pressure wouldn't you think? He can be replaced IMO, but no one can replace Zo.

I don't think 'Zo's coming back. He's old and he finally got that ring. He had a life-threatening illness, I think he's going to retire and enjoy life, now.

I am not sure about Pat Riley. He said he was likely done after this season. I think he became coach to make sure Miami won. They weren't doing to hot under Stan Van Gundy, he knew Shaq was getting old. I think he came to get one last ring, I don't think he'll bac back.

Payton. I doubt he comes back. He's an embarrassment to his former self, I'd like to see him hang them up.

^^Riley said he hoped to celebrate like this next year again so I'm guessing that he wants to come back but who knows.

I think if most of the team comes back, then Riley will return also. However, if Mourning and Payton retire, and Posey leaves, then I'm not sure if he'll come back.

I don't think anyone has to get Riley to stay. He will make the decision on his own and I don't think anyone persuading him to comeback will change his initial decision. However, if there's one person that can get him to come back, I think it's Dwyane Wade. Though, I already see Pat coming back trying to go for the repeat.

We need to get a backup PG, regardless if GP comes back or not. Speedy Claxton would come at a high price, but if we can nab him athe MLE, he'll be a good pickup, but there will be plenty of suitors for him. I really dont want House, he's just a chucker.

I look for Dorrell Wright to play a role next season, with Simien playing a role. Wade is almost a lock to sign an extension this summer, and getting Posey back will certainly be a key, but it'll be interesting to see how much he commands if he opts considering that he already makes around 6.5 a season.

I am very high on Dorrell Wright. He is going to play a bigger role next year and I think he can play the 1-4 spots when we go small. Big Dub is also going to get more time. I think Earl Barron will move into the third center spot over Doleac. I like him a lot. We have a great chance to repeat if we stay together.
