CV + 3rd pick is nowhere near the amount Matrix makes. You guys would have to add a lot more players to get close to his salary. Chandler is a good person to offer because he gets paid a high amount.
oh yea...and now that i really look at that, we loose a draft pick all together...hmm, maybe thats not such a good deal afterall lol i just like the idea of seeing marion in a raps uni. he's one of my fav players
Yea, his rebounding can really help us. I do like to see him in a Raptor uniform..but im afraid that won't happen.
Without question he would help the Raptors but I don't think it's going to happen. When it's all said and done the Raptors will have a first-round draft pick in this year's draft right now it's just a matter of where. I can't see the Raptors trading out of the draft all together to get Jermaine O'Neal or Shawn Marion. They'll make a trade, I think it will be a role player and a top ten draft pick for the #1 (Bobcats deal anyone?).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">im at work...so yes, bored lol</div> well, keep up the good work! Anyway, I don't think its a good trade because Marion makes like around 15 mill per year for the next 3 years. The reason Chandler is being offered is because he has had some injury problems and is making like 64 mill over the next 5 years. Its a nice thought to have Marion in a Raptor uniform, however it would be at the Raptor's expense.
We have nothing to offer for Marion, none of our guys make enough money, and this rumour has been killed anyways, don't see why the Suns would even consider this.
There's no one in this years draft I see being as good as Marion. Maybe Rudy Gay, but nothing is guaranteed. He's a three-time all-star, put up 22/12/2 along with 2 steals and almost 2 blocks. You can also make the argument he was more valuable to the Suns' success than Steve Nash. He will be an excellent fit in Toronto, but not even the #1 pick is worth his value. This draft is viewed as one of the more weaker draft classes in recent years, so the value of the #1 overall pick isn't as good as it usually is. He's also making a lot of money, too. No one in Toronto is making nearly as much money as he is. If you still had Jalen Rose, then a trade would be easier to pull off.
Don't think that this is a weak draft.....it is simply lacking in a clearcut number 1. The draft if you think about it is really quite deep with solid players all the way down through the lottery.
This draft seems to be a step below the more recent drafts. The only draft which can be considered better is maybe the 2001 draft.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If a trade sending the Bulls' top pick (No. 2 overall) in Wednesday's draft, along with Tyson Chandler, to Phoenix for Shawn Marion sounds too good to be true, that's because it is. The Racine (Wis.) Journal-Times reported Thursday that the Bulls and Suns were giving "serious thought'' to such a deal. Bulls general manager John Paxson shot down the report Friday. ''There's no truth to [it],'' he said. Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni also told the East Valley/Scottsdale (Ariz.) Tribune this week that the 6-7, 228-pound Marion -- who averaged 20.4 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.85 steals, 1.6 assists and 1.15 blocks in the Suns' 20-game playoff run to the Western Conference finals -- is not on the market. "You can ignore it [the rumors],'' D'Antoni said. "I'll tell you what's going to happen: Someone will call me and I'll listen, because you always have to listen. And then we'll go, 'No.' And then it will be in the paper the next day that we're interested.</div> Source I guess that pretty much means Marion is not avaliable.
If DJ would only start his titles with Capital letters, he'd be a legendary poster. As for the rumour, it's laughable.
