Diaz isn't a fit, but don't worry, Knicks fans. Most likely, the Knicks will use the pick as bait for Miami, who's been trying to move up to get Diaz.</div>
This came from Chad Ford's mock draft.
If this were to happen, who would we get in the trade?

    Yeah, Ford said:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">• The Knicks brought in Guillermo Diaz over the weekend for a one-on-one workout with Isiah. Why would Isiah Thomas bring in Diaz when he already has four other combo guards on the roster? Let's just say he's covering his bases.

The Miami Heat, as we've reported last week, have been trying to move into the first round and their target has been Diaz. The Knicks are open to trading the No. 29 pick, especially if the Heat are willing to throw Dorell Wright into the deal. However, given that the NBA champs have been pretty good at scouting talent the last few years, Thomas wanted to make sure that he wasn't missing something with Diaz.

For Diaz's sake, let's hope that Isiah wasn't impressed. The last thing Diaz needs is to be stuck behind Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson on a depth chart.

Diaz's agent Jason Levian refused to comment on the rumors other than to say that Diaz is still working out and doesn't have a promise anywhere.

The Mavs had Diaz in on Saturday and the Nets have him in today for a workout.</div>

Don't know too much about him. How is he, Esco?

    He's another wing.

Meaning, he would fit in perfectly with NY.

He's a shooting guard in a point guard's body. In other words he is your prototypical combo guard ideally suited to come off the bench and give some offensive punch off the bench. He's very athletic and seems to have a nice feel for putting the ball in the basket but his size and questionable decision making are serious issues. I wouldnt draft him if I were Isiah.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

Basically he's another Trevor Ariza. Probably with more potential though.

First off, I highly doubt Pat Riley would trade Dorrell Wright for a guy like Diaz. I do not want to do this trade at all because Wright is to promising to give up. He has bonded real well with this team to which is a big part of a yougn players development IMO. He and Wade are very close. He could be a star.

Dorell is a good player. I watched a lot of the kid coming out of high school and I was impressed. Honestly, I want him out of Miami to actually get some playing time because he has potential. With the Knicks if he gets some time I can see him having good career.

Can someone tell me about this guy? I dont know anything about him. The very few times I did see him on the basketball court was during garbage time and that isnt a very good time to evaluate what a player is capable of.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

He's not really a Point guard sized player. He's like 6'7 but he's skinny, not really an NBA-ready frame. If he puts some pounds on, he can get out there and play. They called him "second T-Mac" when he got drafted.

He was like a pick 19, straight out of high school from the 2004 draft. Spent some time in the D League, started the two last games this season for the heat, and scored 19 and 20 points respectively, they lost the second and won the first. He made 3-5 treys in the first game, went to the line 12 times in the second game. He also held Gerald Green to 3-10 and 6 fouls in the last game, if that says anything about him.

Maybe he's an energy guy off the bench. Like Dahntay Jones?

I don't think Miami is going to trade him cuz they might lose posey. But if the knicks do get him that would be a good move.
