Cassell is up there in age at 37, but was an instrumental piece of the Clippers puzzle in achieving playoffs success.</div>

The Clipppers' front office seems to be BS'ing if you ask me, they think that signing Sam for 2 more years instead of 1 year will slow down Livingston's growth? That seems like a cop out cause Sam already said he was willing to come off the bench. And even if Sam does keep the starting spot for the next two years that would make Livingston 22 or 23 years old, when he takes over starting duty...still young and honestly that will probably be when he is ready to lead a team deep into the playoffs anyway. Pay Sam his money, my goodiness, he along with Brand took this team from the trash can to a legit playoff squad in a year together.

When will these teams learn.. keeping Cassell should be a top priority, at least if they want to make the playoffs again.

Cassell earned his 2 yr contract, what a great season for the Clippers, nearly getting to the Western Conference Finals. If the Clippers don't budge on this, where would Sam head? He should just stay in Los Angeles and sign with the Lakers...or he could return to the Rockets and help their PG sit...hmmm...??

I would sign Sam back. Look what he did this season and in the playoffs.

You definately sign Sam for two years. Even if he's not going to be starting in 07/08, he'd be the best backup PG in the league by far, and we definately need him.

Donald Sterling has supposedly offered Sam 2 years, 12 mil. The Lakers have supposedly offered 2 years 10 mil. I still think the Clippers have the advantage, but the Lakers offer isn't that far removed. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers pushed their offer up to 3 years.

Are they really willing to loose Sam to the Lakers. Regardless of Sam's age, in a Lakers uniform, Kobe and Iam would be sick. Clippers really need to think about what they are doing here, and according to Henacy (any news on Sam from Henacy holds wieght) if Sam said he is willing to come off the bench... then I do not see the issue here.

The Lakers are supposedly signing Radman, so if they do, they won't be able to get Sam.
