<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to sources in the NBA, the Sonics have received multiple offers for Mickael Gelabale. Teams are wiling to give up lower-level first-round picks for the Sonics second-round draft pick of a year ago. It is unlikely the Sonics would part with Gelabale. At age 23, Gelabale is a bit more refined than some of the younger player available in this draft. According to European scouts, Gelabale is a terrific athlete and a streaky shooter that can get amazingly hot. Their concern when he adapts to the NBA game is he has a level passivity in his personality and doesn?t seem like the type to walk into a camp and grab everyone?s attention and force himself on the floor. Instead, it will take him sometime to get accustomed to the surrounding and he will work his way into the rotation as the season develops.</div> Locke. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seattle is by far the most active team on the trade front, having made calls to basically every team in the NBA at this point. The official indicated that the Suns are shopping Marion because they need salary space to attempt to re-sign Tim Thomas, Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa in the next few years. Marion is scheduled to earn more than $48 million over the three seasons. It's highly unlikely that the Sonics, who are battling the city over refurbishing KeyArena and have an unsettled ownership situation, would take on such a contract in addition to Ray Allen's $80 million deal.</div> Seattle PI. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Because of the players involved, a Western Conference official who asked for anonymity said he believed the Sonics initiated the talks. "I don't know if that will happen. I don't know if I can do that because that rarely happens in the NBA today."</div> Seattle Times.
Hmm...man this team is cheap. The owners obviously don't care about winning. Rick Sund went out and basically made this deal happen...but the cheap a$$ ownership....only cares about the amount of Starbucks that they will be able to open on each block.

I have no evidence on this deal. I'm just making a general statement, which I think is true. I may have mis-read something where it said ".. might be officially done, as it's been nixed by Seattle management due to financial concerns involved with taking on substantial contract..." Now that i read it again, it implies that the deal is finished meaning nothing is going on now. I still think the management is cheap though.
