As I type this, the draft is less than 12 hours away. We currently have picks 10, 40 and 53, although it's pretty unlikely we're going to keep all three picks, unless we draft someone to stay overseas. So, just flat out (no explanation needed), take a stab at who we draft and we'll see who gets the closest, If you expect us to trade down or out of the draft include that with an explanation. For me: 10 - Rodney Carney 40 - Bobby Jones* 53 - Traded for a future pick * I'm aware he cancelled a workout here which apparently didn't go down so well with management, but he's a hometown product with an emphasis on defense.
I don't think the Sonics will take Bobby Jones because he's so similar to Damien, although he'd instantly become my favorite player. 10 - Ronnie Brewer 40 - Steve Novak 53 - Trade, probably to Memphis If Foye or Shelden Williams drop, I assume they'd be picked. Edit: I'm changing my first pick. 10 - Saer Sene 40 - Steve Novak 53 - Trade, probably to Memphis
10 - Rodney Carney 40 - Leon Powe 53 - Vladimir Vereemenko / Trade I really hope we take Carney over a post like Hilton Armstrong or Sene if we don't trade the pick. We have our young big men already, lets get some defense and athleticism to the G/F positions.
I little early, I think. But what does this mean with Petro, Swift, and Sene all playing the same position?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post"> But what does this mean with Petro, Swift, and Sene all playing the same position?</div> It means that seven footers are a rare commodity (see what you paid for Jerome) and we've now stocked up on three decent prospects. We are not going to challenge for a title in the near future so I don't mind it at all.

We'll see what happens to them, but I'm sure all three big men are not a part of the teams long term plans.

Seven footers are the most valuable commodity in the league. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">We'll see what happens to them, but I'm sure all three big men are not a part of the teams long term plans.</div> If the unlikely happens and all three pan out, then we're in a very strong position in regards to listening to offers. It is not a bad thing having three young seven footers on your roster.
