Well I'm watching the NBA Draft, and after being drafted by the Houston Rockets, Rudy Gay, could very possibly be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Shane Battier. I can't find a link as of now, but as soon as I do, I'll post it here. IMO- this trade would just be terrible for the Houston Rockets. Rudy Gay is an amazing Athlete which is exactly what they need. But if this trade goes through CONGRATS to JerryWest. Man he sure is unbelievable.
I disagree. Yes, I understand that the Grizzlies have a need for a guy like Gay, but you don't part with Shane Battier to get it. There are plenty of other avenues for them to explore. Shane Battier is probably one of the most underrated players in the league. His defense, composure, and efficiency make him just as solid as anybody out there, and he's the type of player you have to watch to really appreciate. Gay will probably be a good fit in Memphis, but they are losing more than they are getting in return.
Shane is a good defender, i agree. HE's like a rip off version of Bruce Bowen. lol But Rudy Gay is an ok defender and an extremly athletic player who can simply put the ball in the bucket.
i read gay and stro swift coming to memphis in the trade...this makes no sense to me personally. Bringing Stro back to town at that price tag and loosing one of the most underrated players in teh game, all for Gay. Poor choice IMO.
Has the trade been confirmed yet? IMO Gay will become what exactly Battier is now, but more athletic. If he can live up to his potential, both teams would have the same turnouts from this deal.
Changes were needed and we were asking for something to happen and change the face of this franchise, and it happened. I'll miss Shane but we have to move on and see what Rudy can do for this team. He just needs to develop a similar chemistry Battier had with Gasol (they were great friends) and look for a great combo to win playoff games for years to come and with a couple of pieces more we could become contenders in three years.
