I don't watch college ball so I don't know anything. I know that the Jazz wanted Reddick but didn't get him. Is Ronnie Brewer good? Why should we party?
Didn't think he would fall to fourteen...don't know that much about him except he has a funny release on his shot, so doesn't really have range or even a consistent J... Has good athleticism, strength, and defense though...very consistent and long 6"11 wingspan in his 6'7 body
He's got a weird release point because he can't extend his arm all the way. I didn't think he would drop that far. I wanted the Bulls to select him at 13, but they took Tablo Sefolosha.
He kinda reminded me of Jason Terry when they showed those clips of him playing. And apparently he broke his arm when he was young and he healed incorrectly so his arms a little messed up. Seems to be a good shooter though.
Brewer is that defender on the perimeter that we needed badly! No more giving up 20 3's a game. Even if he doesn't pan out, he'll be a defensive player that keeps him in the NBA......
The Jazz gave up a lot of 3 pointers last season, if Brewer can help with that they'd benefit a lot defensively. Drafting a SG should also turn out to be a good move, as Utah needed improvement at the position.
After Foye was selected, Brewer, Marcus Williams, and Rodney Carney is who I was hoping Philly would land. Good pickup by Utah.
The real story is Dee Brown being reunited with Deron Willaims...that's awesome, Ronnie Brewer is awesome, kinda surprised the Sixers didn't take him with the 13th.
Damn I wanted the Magic to select Brewer he is a hell of a player and i have watched a lot of clips of him and he will be a star in the league, the Jazz did great with this pick. His shot might look bad but it goes in ala like Shawn Marion, also Brewe's defense is stellar and can really play and he is as versatile as they come he can do anything you ask he can pass the ball, rebound, play D, ball-handle and so on. Good choice by Utah.
Great pick by the Jazz. The Jazz had the exact draft that I wanted the Magic to have, draft Brewer at 11 to start and then draft an Allan Ray/Mike Gansey/Dee Brown type guy in the 2nd. Brewer is going to be a very good pro. He has a goofy looking shot and can't correct it, but he still averaged 18 ppg. He doesn't have to have the ball to be effective. He's essentially a 6'7 PG, he makes great decisions with the ball and will allow your other guys more openings. He is a very good defender. Josh Howard with less range but better playmaking is my comparison for him. So a little less points, but more assists than Josh Howard, IMO.
Ronnie Brewer is an all around great player that should help the Jazz as soon as possible. He's exactly what the Jazz need, a perimeter defender and a guy who can get to the hoop and score for you. Makes a great two guard with Deron Williams at the point.
This was a great pick by the Jazz. Deron had a great rookie year and he is going to keep getting better and Brewer will bring the jump shooter that they need to Utah.
Jazz got a steal with Brewer. I was hoping Houston would take him with the 8th pick. http://82games.com/nbadraft2006.htm http://www.hoopsanalyst.com/0506ew12.htm He's got the physical tools, the skill set, and the work ethic to be a very good NBA player. And he's very versatile -- could probably play three positions on either end of the court if necessary. Consider yourself lucky.
