He gotten better as a scorer the last two years but he doesn't rebound well for his size and is not a presence inside, according to some guy on ESPN. Great

Wow, where did this come from?

An automatic back-up center. I hope this isn't a wasted pick...but then again, what's the center spot going to be like? The W's still have no reliable center.

Sounds like another raw prospect but another guy who has very good hands, a huge wingspan, and good touch around the rim. Heres the scouting report from DX:

    http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=147

He'll probably be kept in Europe or the D-League for a while. IMO its not a bad pick since guys like Bobby Jones and PJ Tucker were off the board. I guess Mullin's plan is to get tons of project big men to increase the chances of us getting a good C.

Here's another DX article with a section on him:

Well, it's 2nd rounder in weak draft, so I didn't expect much from the beginning. I mean, many Warriors fans are spoiled with Arenas, Ellis and Taft, but 2nd rounder is supposely be a waste anyway. He is 7'2" and breathing. And, Mullin is good at foreign scouting. So, who knows?

I'd rather we draft Denham Brown or Leon Powe but whatever...

For a second round pick, I'm very happy with it. Certainly much happier than I was with the O'Bryant pick. It would have been nice to see Leon Powe, but the Warriors certainly don't have a place for another big man on their roster, which is why Perovic is going to be in Europe for awhile (and the Warriors may never bring him over).

Marcus Vinicius Vieira de Souza was a higher rated foriegn prospect, but really, of the guys who were left, there wasn't anyone who I could really see taking a roster spot from any of the guys on the team. Of the guys left, I like Alexander Johnson and Guillermo Diaz.

I have the same attitude. If POB is a used Camry, maybe Kosta is a foreign used Camry.

And let's not forget, we got still have one of the top picks of this draft (possible #1 if he came out this year) in Ike Diogu. Definitely tongue-in-cheeky.

No he pulled out a few weeks ago.

I would have rather had POwe, Jose Juan Barea, Taj Gray, Hassan Adams, Marcus Vinicius but I guess Mullin & Co. saw something in Perovic that they like.

Seriously, I don't like drafting a guy just because he's 7'2. His defense sucks, he's slow, he's been labeled as stiff over the years, his bulk isn't very good, his offense isn't very good, and he doesn't rebound. Might as well trade for Ha Seung Jin who IMO has way more potential.

I guess the only plus sides were what Wtwalker mentioned. Stow him away, see what happens when he hits 26 years old, or maybe use him in a trade.

Agree, this pick appears to suck but then again everyone was questioning Mullin when he took Monta because we didnt need another combo guard but we know how that turned out. My hopes are still low for Perovic but you never know. [IMG]

Maybe... I remember he was on the draft radar during the time Biedrins entered.

But Monta Ellis is a different case because he was projected to go first round. I mean his comparative upsides were tremendous when scouts thought this guy was a sort of Steve Francis mixed a little Arenas, Tony Parker, or Chauncey Billups. He fell because his draft camp test results sucked and he posted up big numbers playing in high school.

Overall feeling is that this year's draft really feels like a bust. When I heard that OBryant is a good cook, my immidiate thought was Fuller and Foyle with great GPA. Hope that's not the case.

BTW, I would be extremely angry if this is our last moves during the season. By an accident, you would think we will add some SFs. But, we actually got weaker in SF position now since we lost Cheaney. It really feels like Mullin is twisting Monty's wrist by providing only Dunleavy at SF...

... and Pietrus as backup! Probably the only guy on our team packed with some scary talent like Monta Ellis possesses, but is so dumb he cannot play the team game or make it through the 4th quarter without incident.

Talk about Mullin putting people in all these sorts of positions to fail... I wish Cohan would give Mullin an ultimatum like Dolan did to Isiah. Start designing right or coach it yourself and you've got one year to start winning.
