No clue why you guys are angry... I think that Bargnani was a great selection, the guy is 7' and a half and is still growing, the guy can play right now, contrary to popular opinion. He is a player for the future because he will get even better, hes solid right now, but he was the potential to be a big star in the NBA. Why do you guys want a pg from the second round? That doesnt make any sense to me. Where on the roster do you wanna put this pg? We already have Calderon, Ukic wants to play for us, and Barrett will probably be with us next year aswell. Besides all those point guards, I really don't think someone like Colangelo is that stupid, he is the reigning executive of the year... Don't you think he's planned out what hes gonna do regarding pg's? Use common sense before blasting a gm who just had a good draft. PJ Tucker is a solid second round pick up, a player shooting over 50% while scoring 16ppg.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting spyware:</div><div class="quote_post">NOW DENHAM BROWN IS IN SEATTLE...THAT JUST CHEEEESES MEEE OFF MAN. and who the heck is that guy we selected with the last pick? Jesus?</div> If I didn't live in Canada I would say, "Who the hell is Denham Brown?". (A guy who shot 40% and averaged 10ppg.) Ill go ahead and say it anyway, who the hell is Denham Brown... We picked the Big 12 player of the year, that is reason enough to select PJ Tucker in the second round.
The Toronto Star wrote that Colangelo was working the phones a lot after the Bargnani pick, trying to get another mid-late 1st rounder. Apparently teams were looking for one of our young prospects (it mentioned Villanueva), and he was unwilling to take the talks that far. So I guess we can't blame him for being too passive, either.
No, Colangelo has done well so far and I heard about him trying to get another pick as well, but didn't want to give up Charlie. He says that he's going to fill the void in the PG position via free agency or trade...so sit tight guys! Maybe we can do a trade with Seattle, which would involve T.J. Tucker...and we can get Luke Ridnour and maybe Denham if they want to throw us another body.
spawn is right. he hasnt even had a full season under his belt and yet your getting mad. you havn't even seen bargnani play, so you really can't judge him. if toronto does well this season you guys will probably praise colangello. would you guys rather still have babcock?
TJ and Chris are close friends, the team chemistry's already building up. They're both young and i'm sure Colangelo knew what he's doing, maybe Villanueva isn't that player that we need, we'll never know untill the season starts. How can you judge Bargnani's game when you don't know what he's capable of? Jesus, give the kid a break..
I dont think he should be fired, not yet atleast, but yes, he has made some very questionable decisions so far this offseason. Personally I think the drafting of Bargnani and Tucker and the trading of Villaneuva were all big mistakes, but you never know, until we see this new look team in action, I guess we cant really comment. I know BC is just praying that it pays off, lol.
