The Orlando Magic opened up the TD Waterhouse Centre for the public who wanted to come and watch the draft and support their team. Here is a link of the crowd after Redick was selected at #11.

While you can't hear much in this video, apparently people were booing like crazy.

I wouldn`t be booing. This team has a trio of Nelson, Redick and Howard and with that 2007 draft pool, this team could be dangerous in the near future.

How do you boo a guy who is gonna bring at least 12 points a game his first year. I think that he will fit in well. hes not bad at shooting over the d. He should exspect alot of open shots.

No, they booed because his name isn't Ronnie Brewer or Rodney Carney.

I dont know why everyones gotta hate on this guy, I think he can be a successful pro, a good player and a good asset to the orlando magic for their future. He's a little undersized yes and all he does is shoot but realize in the NCAA teams designed special defenses just to stop him, he got triple and double teams everytime he touched the ball, so imagine what he can do when he's open feeding off a good big man like Dwight and a great PG like Jameer? You guys gotta look at positives before negatives.

JJ is awesome, the Magic are going to be awesome for yrs to come with Jameer and JJ as their backcourt.

JJ will be able to come in and make an immediate impact from behind the arch. We all know that he can only shoot, but look at the Sonics pick, Sene all he can do is rebound and play defense. Trust me, the Orlando Management will work with him day in and day out to get him ready for the NBA.

i never liked redick in college...YES hes a good player truthfully but at the number 11 pick in need of a athletic SG... there was a lot better value out there in my own opinion...redick will fit somewhat good on our team but i only can see him as maybe 17 pts 4 rb 3 ast and maybe like 4 tos a game... and he cant play defense...yea he might hit some shots for us but i think at the number 11 pick we could got somebody like carney or brewer where they could gotten the stats except with more defense and natural ability to play ball...thats my own take....i guess we will have to live with JJ now...he def has something to prove soo hopefully he use's that for inspiration

Once Dwight becomes a force, it will be a good pick because he'll be able to pass it out to Redick, and he'll knock it down. For his rookie season they'll probably have someone stick on him at the 3 point line... Don't know how good he is at driving the ball.

This pick is actually growing on me. He is instant offense and he was sick in all those videos I posted. I can't wait to see him play. While I was mad at first, I'm kinda over it and I'm looking forward to the season.

Because if he scores 12 then most likely he will give up 15!!!

I don't see how one guy, that is obviously defensive lacking can give up 15, when he won't be guarding the best scorer on the floor.

I don't like the pick, but we made it, so I will hope for the best. I like the pick because it's going to be hard to double team Dwight when you have Hedo, JJ, and Jameer up top spotting up for 3's and if Darko can consistently hit that 16-18 footer, we will be very dangerous.

On the other hand Jameer and JJ are going to be the absolute worst defensive 1 and 2 combo in the league. By far the worst. To make matters worse you have Hedo, who despite being underrated at defense still isn't very good. That will get Dwight and Darko in early and deep foul trouble because of the penetration.

Here is my ideal situation....
Starting Lineup
PG-Jameer
SG-Stevenson
SF-Hedo
PF-Dwight
C-Darko

Bench
PG-Arroyo
SG-Redick
SF-Ariza
PF/C-Battie
Dooling/Hill are also on the bench.

In that scenario it has 1 good defensive wing in the starting lineup in Deshawn Stevenson, plus it puts Redick on a 2nd team with a distributing PG and a defensive minded SF, which would be perfect fits, IMO. I won't be opposed to drafting JJ as long as we continue to give him shots. We started doing that for Garrity and then we just stopped giving him the ball when he was in.
