Balkman won't be so bad. I did some research on him last night and liked what I saw. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have Marcus Williams, but Balkman looks like he can be a good fit. He can guard all over the perimeter and a little bit of power forward at the next level, but he's the type of passionate, aggressive, dirty work kind of player we can all use. ^Very reminiscent of Ricky Davis over Steve Nash. ^Does the dirty work. ^Can guard little guys. Please. If Isiah didnt take this guy he'd have been taking his game to Europe to warm some bench. In fact he was probably packing his bags when he saw the Knicks select him on television. And like the rest of us he was probably thinking, "What the Hell is Isiah Thomas doing???" That's providing he was even watching the draft in the first place which I doubt. But you're right. It's not his fault Isiah passed up arguably the best point guard in the draft for a mid second round- undrafted player at twenty. Cant blame him for coming to the Knicks, cashing his check, getting a few million dollars before leaving for Europe. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

Because I dont see this Balkman person being any better. I dont think Balkman will get much playing time in the summer league. Balkman will definitely help the Knicks. He does what the current Knicks are allergic to: defend, rebound and scramble on every possession. Williams didnt make sense to me since the Knicks have so many guards who need the ball in order to be successful: Francis, Marbury, Robinson and Crawford. If Thomas felt that the team could have dealt either Francis, Marbury or Crawford, I'm sure he'd have chosen Williams. But I'm sure the market out there isn't glimmering with glee so he chose a player who can help and fit in.

Second of all I dont care if the Knicks have a whole bunch of guards, none of them bring to the table what Marcus Williams brings. Third of all you underestimate the stupidity of Isiah Thomas. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
Well, the dirty work players aren't usually sought out in drafts. Guys like Haslem, Ben Wallace, and Reggie Evans were all undrafted. Still, that doesn't excuse Isiah for passing on other players who were available. He probably could've drafted him with the 29th pick (I don't buy that Phoenix business at all). Of course, people will forgive him if he turns out to be a great player, but it doesn't erase the fact that his draft strategy was horrible.
I was watching the wire and in episode 6 of the first season when the partys over they're watching the TV, and one of the guys says "The Knicks done ****** up the draft again."

Saying already he is going to bring to the table more than the guy you drafted is just being a pessimist and short sighted. Granted Marcus Williams is an excellent player but thats no reason to just push aside who you recieved this year.
