Colangelo said that he's not particularly impressed with the current crop of free agents, so he'll be addressing the teams needs via a trade...

obviously we still need a PG, so who do you think he'll be going after?

If hes smart, he wont trade away players when he can resign one.

luke ridnour but for that to happen i think we might have to absorb a hefty contract like that of rashard lewis.

Why would we make trades that involve taking on hefty contracts, when we can just sign Mike James to a less hefty contract and keep all our players?

i already told you...because james will hurt our cap situation for years to come. he wont sign a deal for less then 5 yrs. when we can take on a contract like rashard lewis' who's contract expires next year. you really need to understand the difference between a big contract thats for 6yrs vs 2yrs

Didn't Mike James want to sign a short term deal? Im pretty sure he was being blasted for that in another thread. I guess whatever he does is hated.

cause rashard lewis is better than mike james, plus mike is a shoot first, second, ..... combo guard. this is what i envision...

raps trade charlie v, joey graham, jose caledron for luke ridnour and rashard lewis. in free agency we acquire bobby jackson to back up at the point. here's how our team looks

luke ridnour, bobby jackson (pg)
mo. pete. (sg), roko ukic (combo)
rashard lewis, pj tucker (sf)
bosh, k. humpries (pf)
rasho, bargnani, garbosa ©

this team wins 45 games.

Is Rashard Lewis better than Mike James and the players that we will have to give up to get him? I doubt it.

if you're all for building a future, then why do you want us to lock up an aging pg long term?

no...i dont know who's saying that, but they are wrong. James wants to ink something long term

dude...you're now just spamming my thread. you never even answered the question in the first place...COLANGELO SAID himself that he's going to be addressing needs via trade...that likely means a pg...the question is WHO do you think he'll go after. we know you love mike james...if you dont have any idea's who he'll go after, plz stop posting in this thread...lets keep it on topic

thanks

I think the Raptors should just resign Mike James...apparently, he's been training all summer to get even stronger and we had great chemistry last season. If we keep the guys we have now, maybe add a backup PG, I think we are close to contending (in a couple of years or so).

If we do re-sign mike James, it'll be a 2-3 year deal worth anywhere from 15-25 million. Sigh..we should just drafted Blalock, a steal in my opinion and better than Calderon.

Why not? Mike Bibby makes $12,500,000 next season. Mike James had a better year than him.

According to your logic, LeBron James had a better season than Michael Jordan during his last year with the Bulls and Jordan's salary was 33 million.

Therefore: LeBron James is as good as Jordan is and deserves somewhere close to 30 million *applauds*

no he didnt. they had comparable seasons stat wise, however bibby's team went to the playoffs in the western conference. with their record in the east, they would have had home court

bibby is making the kind of money he is, because he was having seaons better then james years ago. he signed a long term, lucrative deal after proving himself with good stats for a few years. james has had ONE decent season, and you're comparing that to bibby? whos made a name for himself being a good leader, and a clutch playoff performer?

the fact that you're comparing what bibby is currently making to what james should get paid indicates you have no concept of how the nba's monetary system works. everyone on this forum can see the holes in james' game except for you...that should tell you soemthing
