<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Goodbye Tyson? No, the Bulls haven't traded Tyson Chandler?though they were in the midst of NBA draft-day trade talks that began to put a new face on the team?and they might not trade Chandler. Because if they do, Ben Gordon may have to play center. The Bulls loaded up on swingmen in the draft, adding 6-foot-8-inch Tyrus Thomas, 6-5 Thabo Sefolosha and 6-9 Viktor Khryapa. Chandler may be in the best position in his career to have a breakout season with some stability from marriage and a new baby and the security of his long-term contract. But the drafting of Thomas and Sefolosha and the addition of Khryapa?little used in Portland but regarded as having good athletic potential?signals a form of philosophical makeover as the Bulls go forward. It seems likely they'll keep together their current core of players: Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng and Andres Nocioni. There were rumors of a trade for Kevin Garnett, but general manager John Paxson scoffed at them. Not that the Bulls wouldn't be interested, but the Timberwolves remained steadfast about keeping Garnett, and none of the big stars rumored to be on the move was traded. But in Sefolosha, the Bulls acquired the defensive-minded big guard they were talking about to relieve the pressure on Hinrich to play point guard and defend the other team's best perimeter scorer. Likewise, Thomas is regarded as a player who can possibly change the game on defense, eventually. Yes, we've heard this before from the Bulls with the likes of Chandler and Eddy Curry, and Paxson did give everyone a start during his press conference at the Berto Center when he said drafting Thomas was like getting a high school kid. </div> Source If Chandler is being shopped around I don?t expect anything to happen until the trade deadline around February. Chandler is in position to have a break out year with his first child being born, his marriage, and a full summer in the weight room. We need to at least see what he does this season before trading him.
I want to see what he does this off-season. See if he improves any of his offensive game, and see if he does anything in the weight room.
If he doesn't do hot t his year I hope we trade him. He didn't, in the least, earn his contract last year. This draft seems to have turned out alright though.
i ran into him the other day because hes always around here and he said hes training with paul pierce and lamar odom.
is Thabo a forward or a guard mainly? I am just wondering who will play the rotation with Duhon, Gordon and Hinrich
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">is Thabo a forward or a guard mainly? I expect most of his time to come as a shooting guard.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SP23:</div><div class="quote_post">Are you serious? And where is "here"? L.A?</div> I?m guessing somewhere around the SoCal area. Chandler is from that area, and goes back during the summer. I remember last year during contract negotiations Paxson flying out to California to meet Tyson. If it?s true that he is working out with Paul Pierce, and Lamar Odom he must really be trying to improve his offensive game. I?m surprised he doesn?t get some big men to work out with him though, teach him some post moves. If Tyson comes to camp with a jump shot I will be satisfied though.

Isn't it just pick up games and some general conditioning work to stay in some kind of basketball shape during the summer? Because i have a hard time believing Pierce or Odom would actually take time out to really work on his jump shot with him. I mean those guys have stuff of their own going on right? it would be completely understandable for them to work on their own shortcomings. Or are there coaches available to work with you in those work outs? But ok, it's only june. The guy deserves a holiday like everyone else. But i hope that he will go back to chicago by august to really start working on his shortcomings with Bulls personnel to assist him...
yah i ran into him at a local food place i go to after practice down here in socal. he said its him lamar and pierce and some other stars he didnt say who thought..considering they are in the nba im sure they have shooting coaches.
I guess this thread title should have been “Hello Wallace. Good Bye Tyson.” as it appears the signing of Big Ben is what will eventually lead to the exit of Tyson Chandler. I have to say though despite all the failed expectations, despite the underachievement, and huge contract, I have always enjoyed watching Tyson play. He plays with energy and with an enthusiasm that anyone watching him would know he is truly enjoying the game. I wish him luck to whatever team he goes to. Which as on now looks like the Hornets...

He still fought for offensive rebounds though. I hope he developes his game even more this off-season, and to whatever team he might go to.
